We prepare for Jesus' second coming

In this Advent season, as we light the second candle, we focus on peace and preparation. December often becomes a whirlwind of activities, but how much of this is centered on celebrating Jesus' birth? Reflecting on our busy schedules, we might find that the true reason for the season often gets overshadowed. Historically, generations waited for the Messiah amidst chaos and injustice, and today, we look back at Jesus' first coming and forward to His return. Just as we prepare our homes for guests, we should prepare our hearts for Jesus, tending to our relationship with God. John the Baptist, a radical figure in the New Testament, prepared the way for Jesus' first coming by preaching repentance and forgiveness. His life serves as a model for us as we prepare for Jesus' second coming. This Advent, let's commit to active preparation, sharing our faith, promoting justice, and living holy lives that reflect our commitment to Jesus.
