A ridgecrest copper headgasket with fire rings should do the trick, also look into adding a coolant temp/pressure sensor and wiring it into the haltech for engine protection and dash for warning.

I’ve always thought of cylinder pressure as being related to torque divided by rpm. I can’t see the relationship of cylinder pressure to boost and backpressure. Valves are closed during the compression and power strokes so why the relationship? Boost makes torque, backpressure may indicate torque lower in rpm range: but boost and backpressure making cylinder pressure 🤨

I think he made a mistake trying to explain cylinder pressure. Indeed, the maximum pressure during the power stroke is visible on any graphs of bench engines with a pressure sensor in the cylinder. The same MTB point It is too big an assumption that this is due to boost and back pressure.

I guess the effect has more to do with volumetric effeciency of the engine. I think this drops dramatically when the exhaust pressure builds up and as an effect your cylinder has more inert gas and needs more boost pressure to achieve the same power output. So I expect the peak cylinder pressure for the same power output to be higher on a smaller turbo compared to a bigger turbo. Ultimately, at some power level the bigger turbo will probably still hit the same cylinder pressure and have the same issues.

this is why you should always just buy the biggest turbo that fits in your bay the first time, thats gotta be the 4th or 5th turbo swap that car has had since i started following the channel. if it isnt cracking the exhaust manifold your turbo isnt big and heavy enough if i have a choice of killing an intech with a td04 or a fuck off kenworth turbo im not gunna bother playing small
