Came to the comment section to say this and lo and behold someone beat me to it. Yes, because Finale of Promise says "up to" he can legally cast it for X = 0 with no targets. Doing so would have allowed him to tap Stella Lee to copy Big Score, letting him go +3 on card advantage and make 4 treasures. Pretty big miss on his part, but in his defense, the precon seems pretty complicated.

Good showcase of why its important to have good mana bases in your commander decks. Been playing the nelly borca precon from Murders at karlov manor and the single best upgrade I did to it, was pulling out all those utility lands that only tapped for colorless and put in ones that actually made red and white mana for my spells it played SO much smoother.

10:18 Aaron joked about looking at the top card, but in the rules, he actually DOES have to look at the card before exiling it face down to be able to look at it again in future CR 406.3. ... Cards “exiled face down” can’t be examined by any player except when instructions allow it. However, if a player is instructed to look at a card and then exile it face down, or once a player is allowed to look at a card exiled face down, that player may continue to look at that card until it leaves the exile zone or is part of a pile of cards that are shuffled, even if the instruction allowing the player to do so no longer applies. If Gonti, Canny Acquisitor didn't allow Aaron to look at the card before exiling it face down, he would never be allowed to look at the exiled card

i think especially for the yuma desert deck was helpful. But in general upgrading lands help a lot but yea it can get expensive, i will deff upgrade some lands for my yuma deck

Question about cursed mirror, wording states it "when it ETBs, you may have it become a copy of X", not that it "ETBs as a copy of X", would the Gonti trigger still trigger as the Mirror/Gonti is already on the Battlefield when copy happens?

Great question! Cursed Mirror's oracle text is actually As Cursed Mirror enters the battlefield, you may have it become a copy of any creature on the battlefield until end of turn, except it has haste. ETB triggers always start with the word 'when', 'whenever', or 'at'. Cursed Mirror's ability modifies how it enters the battlefield, so any ETB triggers will happen as normal.

I had to look this one up myself. Turns out the answer is no, visible in the Oracle rulings for the card. It has to do with how the duration effect works ("until Hostage Taker leaves"), which is different from older/different cards like Fiend Hunter.

This ended in Turn 8 and there was the ability for the Izzet deck to kill 3 people with over 80 damage presented. Go and compare this showing of the Izzet deck with the last video and LoadingReadyRun's playthrough of the deck where both pilots had less than 10% screentime. I would say "significant".

Not at all, we regularly get requests to show pre-cons with upgraded mana bases. Often people want to see how the decks will play if they're not slowed down by ETB tapped lands.

You didn’t explain why you put $5500 into lands. Do the thunder junction precons have bad stock mana bases? Or could I run them how they come with no problem?

The land bases are ok but still contain a lot of enters tapped lands. They seem to have filled out each deck with fetches, shocks and multi color lands that enter untapped to make the decks run faster.

You may spend mana as though it were mana of any type to cast it. If this mana is spent to cast instant/sorcery copy it. Is a type you should be able to use then or did they put it in the rules about all the special types of mana.

​@DarthTUK Your definition of "cEDH level" shows a lack of understanding in deck construction and purpose. Changing the manabase merely fixed the mana performance. It did not increase the efficiency of each decks game plan, which was discussed at the end of the video. That requires upgraded card quality for spells and dedication to one or two established win conditions that win on the stack. None of that was present here. Having O.G. duals and fetches doesn't make anyone a tryhard. And shaming anyone for their collection doesn't make you a better commander player.
