The babies & mamas are FINALLY in a pen together -- and you won't believe what happens. It's all about mama drama in today's video! We have 3 mamas & 6 babies that we've combined together in one big pen, complete with a mountain of stumps, a teeter totter, and treats. The baby goats are jumping and playing and running around like crazy! The mamas? They're focusing on head butting everybody:)

Hi there! 👋🏻 We live on a 1-acre farm right in the middle of the busy city of Phoenix, Arizona! Our names are Kevin & DaNelle, and we moved here in 2009, when our kids Ethan & Lydia were just 6 & 4 years old 🥰 Over the years we've raised goats for milk, chickens for eggs, built a fish/swim pond, planted fruit & nut trees, and grew a large garden full of veggies. We've also raised a bunch of other animals like pigs, sheep, turkeys, geese, peacocks, and more!
Now that our kids are away at college, we have settled into doing what we love most -- which is raising & breeding goats ethically to improve genetics. But don't worry, we'll forever love our goofy pet goats like Luna the herd queen & Willow the stump lover. We also still love raising chickens for eggs, gardening, tending to the fruit & nut trees, and growing fish in the pond. We use the fresh goat's milk to make cheese, butter, yogurt -- and we use that + everything else we harvest on our little farm to make delicious meals. Having a getaway from the busy world right in our backyard brings so much joy to us each day, and we hope it brings some to you, too. 🥰

It's been great having the herd integrated finally (minus Luna, sorta). We've definitely enjoyed watching the live stream as the kids run around and play. We've noticed that there's two cliques that have formed. Penny's three kids stick together a lot, and then Harvey, Raven, and Fern are their own clique. Each clique sleeps together under the slide in two separate piles. Penny's kids sleep up on the stumps under the slide, and then the other three sleep on the ground cuddled up under the slide. Every time the two boys go at it, play-headbutting each other and trying to push each other off the stumps during the day, Raven is usually in the thick of it helping her adopted brother, and then often Posey will help her brother too in a sort of family feud. I've noticed that Fern has a ridiculously high jump, and she's absolutely fearless about jumping from the high stumps down to the ground or down to lower stumps. She's definitely Tilly's kid (uh oh). Poppy seems to be the most curious, and every time there's something new in the pen, like the mega seesaw or the Christmas tree, she seems to be the first to explore it. Oakley seems to share a lot of interests with Willow. He hangs out with her on the stumps a lot, and likes to visit her when she's guarding the mega seesaw. All of Penny's kids seem to like hanging out with Willow, which is kind of neat to see since the four of them are full siblings. Posey seems kinda shy, unless Raven is around. The two seem to be good friends despite being from opposite cliques. I see Posey with Harvey a lot, too. I really like Poppy and Raven. I hope if you keep two, those are the two you keep. They both seem energetic, friendly, and curious.

Pickle Waifu Yeah it was a little confusing the first couple hours. I knew each kid individually but when they were all running around and the camera was pulled back to show the whole play area it was a bit hard to tell who was who at a distance as they ran around and played. Fern and Oakley looked enough alike, as did Poppy and Harvey, to mix them up until I was able to really focus on coat patterns from each direction. It was helpful to keep track of back legs coloration, and then pick out the right and left side patterns. I took some more detailed notes in a text file I started when they were all born, and then tried to watch individual kids for a while to see them from every direction and compare their sizes to the scale of their environment. A nice rule of thumb was to figure out who was whitest and who was brownest, and the range between. Harvey has the most white, except Posey of course. Then comes Poppy, then Oakley, and the most brown is Fern. Some markings are more distinctive than others. Fern had that upside down U shape on her back left. Oakley has that > shape on his front left, and a a jagged \ shape on his right. Poppy has a sort of brown triangle in a field of white on her right side, that made me think of a “play” symbol, and unlike Harvey who also has a white back left leg, Poppy has no brown on that leg at all. Anyway, I hope that helps.

Michigal 810 The stream simply ended without any warning that I could see. Everyone in chat assumed the stream was simply being reset as it was from time to time. I would have liked some kind of message from the Weed ‘em family letting us know it was the end, but it simply went down and no new stream has come up. Oh well. All the babies were born and the stream was really only intended to be for labor and birth, so I’m not surprised it’s over now that Space Tuna was born. I’ll miss the baby goat playtimes and the company, but I’m sure all of us who were on the live chat will continue to keep in touch through comments on the vlogs, and hopefully we’ll be reunited on future live streams for Willow’s first pregnancy and others.

i knew i spotted the makings of jumbalaya. it looks good but its a bit too wet and you're missing quite a few spices in there such as a touch of brown sugar and it tastes WAY better if you use tomato paste instead of a jar of diced tomatoes and go from there. i'm not trying to be negative, it looks good but needs to be cooked a touch longer; then you'll see some different flavors come out. for real cajun jumbalaya is a touch dryer. also instead of using just plain old white rice, use parboiled. it comes out better and its more nutritious as well as doesn't have that sticky tendency like regular old white rice. parboiled has to be washed by scrubbing it with your hands.

Love all the adorable baby goats! They're so fun to watch! I'm not sure how Lydia feels about oatmeal, but one of my favorites for the past few years has been oatmeal with sliced avocado and Everything But The Bagel seasoning on top. Basically avo toast but on oatmeal. It's savory and makes people turn up their noses but I think it's a tasty little savory start to the day.
