I am 7 years late but I'm here. I bought this punch at least 2 years ago and never had a need for it until now. I had a 50% off coupon, otherwise I never would have bought this. I need to do a 'welcome home' banner. I almost forgot I had this and was going to use sharpies for the letters. Then my memory came back. Your tutorial was a great introduction because I had no clue how to get started. I thought all parts were removable. I'm glad I found you and can't wait to give it a try. Thank you for clueing me in.

I love listening to this lady give instructions. I love her voice! Usually when I am getting instructions on things here on You Tube I can not stand to hear the person's voice,but this lady has the most adorable voice and I love her accent! I could listen to her give instructions on something that I was completely uninterested in because her voice makes it seem like so much fun lol.

Great demo! Side note... It works really well with the small blank index cards. They are already cut to the right size! Most of us are into gelli printing, color bursting, zentangling , collage, and everything to print our own designs! LOL Anyhoo, this is the way I've used it and I've been quite happy with it. TFS🙋

Thanks for showing this demo. It has quickly removed the mystique and given me the confidence to do it. I'm not really much of a paper crafter - though you would never know it by ENORMOUS stash of paper crafting stuff - but i love it and am so intrigued by it. So i keep buying supplies. Including this punch board which i picked up, yesterday, at a craft outlet, for less than ten bucks. I figured KZbin would have some good videos. I wasn't surprised when yours was the first one to show up. I knew it would be good and thorough.

I've used this twice with a 4yo who follows instructions - 'cowabunga' to punch the 'D' shape, 'press down & pull/push' when using slicer (yes he knows it's a SHARP blade & must go back into it's home when not using) & 'cowabunga' on other punches. Made letters to spell his & his sisters name for their bedroom doors.

I appreciate the demo, I have this, along with my dies and Cricut Air, and I still love and use it. I don't have a great space for my Cricut, this is portable and does not require a plug. I love the look of the letters, reminds me of vintage lettered banners. And finally, those who think it takes long, it really doesn't. I cut my papers on my paper trimmer, followed instructions and with a little practice, I was off to the races. I really enjoy this and really like the result!

I am new to stamping, paper crafts etc. if you could only invest in one machine would you choose cricket or brother scan and cut.
@MaymayMadeIt8 жыл бұрын
+Wamie 1 I wish there was simple answer to this question. Basically, if you don't care to have the scanning and cutting feature then the Explore is a wonderful machine and you will not be sad about owning it. If you think you'd like the use of scanning in items and cutting them then the Brother Scan n Cut is the one for you. It is really hard to help you make a decision. To me it's like iPhone vs Android, they both do the same basic functions, one has some features others like over each one. I don't know if that helps at all! Sorry!
@jesseb51128 жыл бұрын
I am not Maymay and I have never had a cricut but I would start by answering these questions. I did this and chose scan n cut based upon my answers. Do you want to be able to cut out a bunch of stamps without having to fussy cut or buy the stamps? Yes= scan n cut as best choice. Do you want to design your projects out on the computer - if yes then watch videos about this feature on both. I would reccomend Julie Fe Fan Balzer for scan n cut and Melody Lane for Cricut. Full disclosure - I have never used my computer with my scan n cut. What materials are you going to cut? I believe that the scan n cut blades are more expensive. Please double check that! Melody Lane and Crafts By Two put discount codes on their Craft Hoarders Facebook group. Do you want the Cricut cartridges? I was sorely tempted by some of their Disney ones. Here is my biggest tip. When you get the machine take ot out of the box and USE IT! I am a technophobe. I LOVE my scan n cut. I only use it up to a small percent of its potential but its EXACTLY what I wanted. If I didn't open it and use it the same day, February 3rd 2016, it would still be in the box. My mat did not come sticky enough. I used Zig 2 way glue on it to fix the problem. I also contacted Brother and they sent me a new mat as part of its warranty. Warranties expire if you leave these things unopened. I have used it to cut out 87 Christmas trees, 80 or so words, only a dozen or two stamps, to frame and cut about 20 sentiments, some butterflies and lady bugs, and I use it with www.graphicstock.com to make stencils. I have die cut out an ornament that I scanned in from graphicstock to put gelli printed papers behind it and use the piece with the cut out on top. Add a liquid pearl border with some accents and I LOVE the cards. This is what a technophobe has accomplished in 2.5 months. That includes not having the machine on vacation and not using it while I had the flu. The point of this is to give you the last 2 questions Will you use either machine enough to make the cost worthwhile? Will you use it or be afraid of it? I wish you happiness in your choice!

I love your accent, and how you explained the way this tool works! Yours is the first video I've seen that shows how you can cut a 3x5 card right on this tool. I'm just frustrated that I can't find any video that shows how the M or W is cut. All the videos I've seen emphasize that you cut all the letters and numbers from a 3x5 card, but the M and W sure seems wider than a 3x5...? (Same with the mini tool that comes with the 1.5 x 2.5 paper pads on HSN--the M and W are surely wider than that.)
@shadyheart20107 жыл бұрын
Yes, for these letters, as stated in the manual, you must glue one "leg" atop the other (basically you're making 2 U's or N's). The only really weird letter in my opinion is X. Thank goodness, it's not often needed, so I just freehand it.

Hi Maymay...Thanks for your clear and understandable tutorials. Living in the NOW generation, we have grown accustomed to having everything quick and in a hurry and that's understandable; because we all seem to be playing beat the clock!😮 But when it comes to electronic tools of which I own more than a few, just remember they're usefulness all depends on the power supply! Trying to stay ahead of the curve I'm always thanking "What if the power goes out?" all of our expensive cutting and embossing machines would be absolutely "powerless"!!😥😥. So that being said, I think it's prudent to have a little of both, right? Frankly, I love my powerless manual crafting tools, they're like old dependable friends and included among them are all my punch boards!! Do I like the convenience of my Cricut, Ebosser, Scan n Cut etc., absolutely ; but some days you opt for quiet and simple. That's when I reach for my old dependable friends!😉 Happy crafting all you out in crafter's world! And thank you Maymay😊
