Great set up. Do you ever have a problem with any digging out?

No issues with digging out. We run 1/2" x 1/2" hardware cloth along the inner bottom perimeter of the colony to prevent them from digging out and keep predators from digging in. We did have an issue with kits squeezing through the chicken wire though, so we upgraded to the same hardware cloth ran around the sides of the colony as well.

Do you have a plan to deal with incest? That's my biggest problem with a colony is keeping kits leads to incest unless you are starting two colonies

As long as the buck is not a sibling to any of the does than it’s ok for them to breed. The only paring that may have major issues is litter mates.

Yes, we use hay for bedding, and for feed, we give pellets, greens, and hay.

This colony is actually smaller than the recommended size for the number of rabbits but we've had no problems. It's 4x12ish with 3 does and a buck.

Hi John, we have a mixture of breeds, including New Zealands, Standard Rex, and some that are a mixture of Californian/Silver Fox/Standard Rex. Hope this helps!
