My cousin Keith was supposed to be showing up in 1976 and a frantic blur in a Safari Suit jumped out of the car swinging a net and screaming and shot clear across our corn field into a barbed wire fence. Nobody knew what had just happened. I ran down there and a bleeding Keith had caught the first Giant Swallowtail he`d ever seen in person and had nearly had a heart attack over it. LOL! I now know EVERYTHING about butterflies.

Praying your mom gets better soon Jay. The fences that are around the zoo are for coastal Zoos. They are built to stand up to strong winds and weather in case an animal is not evacuated in a storm. The Houston Zoo did a lot better job with n keeping a natural looking environment than heavy fencing. The Lemurs are pretty much that way at most Zoos because they are escape artist.

That amazing blue bird with the bluish body is a violet turaco. Utterly gorgeous. Nice wee family trip there! The butterly exibit reminded me that recently one of my friends was going through some stuff of his late father's and found a moth in a frame. He gave me a call and I picked up a pristine atlas moth despite it being really old! Random stuff! Was house sitting for other friends and spotted an old mahogany specimen cabinet with all the U.K. moth species including all the hawk moths! Have to admit to being green with envy! Enjoy your trip!

I'll probably get in trouble here but this looks like the perfect opportunity for Dad to spend some quality time with Cy while Mom does some fishing once in awhile. You know, dad kickin back in a lawn chair on the beach with a leash on Cy in one hand or whatever they call them with a child on the other end and a tall cool lemonade in another while mom catches supper.

If it's live butterflies you want wait until june/ July and visit Niagara on the Lake, Ontario Canada, ( you'll need passports) it's at the east end of the Canadian side of the Niagara River just below the falls, the Botanical Garden there has an amazing Butterfly conservatory with species from all over with a hatchery that constantly provides new residents it's definitely worth the trip, ( along with the garden itself) and the adjacent Fort Niagara as well. But don't go in winter as right now the area has in excess of 6 feet of snow with more expected later this week!

There should be Spanish Mackeral, Redfish, Blues, and Sea Trout in the surf right out in front of you. All you need is a medium/heavy rod with a 1 to 2 Oz casting spoon. (The small spoons that cast a really long ways.) You could also set up a pompano rig with 2/0 or 3/0 circle hooks and dead shrimp, put a 2 oz pyramid sinker on the bottom and see if there is anything in the cuts. The frozen raw shrimp at Walmart in the blue bags work really well. Cole, you could watch Cyprus so Jay could fish too. Just keep him busy making sand castles while Jay fishes. Or you could take turns making sand castles and fishing. Just saying. 🤔

Jay doesn’t really enjoy making videos by herself. Creating content is how we make a living and support our family so there are times when I have to go out solo and make vids to keep up with the demand from KZbin and our audience. In an ideal and perfect situation we would love it if we could always film together, but there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes to make that work though.
