I played Sonic Dash during my highschool studying period. I really enjoyed that auto runner game app back in the 2010s. 🙂 I didn't try Sonic Forces Speed Battle yet, but seeing characters from the IDW Sonic comic series I will give a try for that game too.

Sonic Dash+ is just what Sonic Dash _used_ to look like, before the cards and microtransactions. Putting this as the paid version and ruining the free one is so scummy, especially since the Plus version is Apple-only

When the card system was updated further just recently it made overall character upgrades significantly cheaper than they used to be, which seems to mean there's less need to purchase rings via the ingame store. Additionally, when levelling up and during spring jump sections (which didn't used to serve a purpose but now gives rewards per swipe), it is very easy to gather cards. I've unlocked most of the characters and find that the store is pushed to such a random corner it doesn't even matter. I only find myself tempted to buy a simple 0.99 purchase to remove ads, but it's nowhere NEAR as bad as it used to be like 6 years ago when certain characters could only be bought. But i get your point of view aswell but don't exactly relate on my end

In Sonic Boom Dash (or whatever it's called lol) there are like different events and things where you fight Eggman instead of it being during the main gameplay and things. (i haven't played it in ages but I remember there were definitely quite a lot of cool differences and things you could unlock or earn).

A few background informations to Sonic Dash: A very long time Sonic Dash worked exactly like Sonic Dash+ now. There where no cards and instead you directly unlock the characters and zones by levelling up. The only difference between these two games was that that + doesn’t have microtransactions, ads and higher red star ring spawn rates. But around one year ago with an update to normal dash got the new UI and the new unlocking method to make it more money friendly for sega since its now more difficult to collect and especially upgrade characters. But of course dash+ didn’t get this update and stayed on the better system. So its outdated or anything.

i consistently play sonic forces speed battle. sometimes it can be a bit predatory monetization-wise, but it's still very friendly to free-to-play users, especially with recent updates making it easier to get Red Star Rings. there's of course some annoying characters to play against, but most of my matches are pretty fun! im a big fan of the new Oni Mephiles, cuz the abilities are flavored after Onis PERFECTLY.

Sonic forces speed battle imo has a lot of lost potential. The power ups can be related to the character for example for amy she can throw her hammer in front.
