I’m with Pierre here. It’s crazy how fast I’m seeing Heat fans turn on Jimmy and try and erase everything he did for the franchise. And it worked like a charm because now Jimmy looks like the bad guy in this situation. I’m already seeing lots of Heat fans rewriting history to say that Jimmy has always been lazy, has never cared about the regular season, is the reason they were always in the play-in, and is greedy for wanting money, because thats what the Front Office messaging has been implying. Bull fuckin shit. My ass. Jimmy was All NBA in 2020, 2021, and 2023. He helped have the team as the 1st seed in 2022. 2023 was the highest All NBA selection in his entire career meaning he was playing *absolutely elite basketball*, maybe the best of his career, and guess what? The damn team was still in the play-in because the damn roster construction sucked. What happened is that Jimmy proved he could do his job by putting up All NBA seasons and leading deep playoff runs over and over again. The team got worse and worse every year since 2022 as he got older and older yet Pat kept expecting the same results without any adjustment or support for him. How does this situation make any sense at all when you put it like this? Jimmy didn’t start having actual bad regular seasons until they completely whiffed on upgrading at all in 2023 while the Celtics took a massive leap ahead of them at the same time. I’d be fucking pissed to if I’m 34 years old I’m seeing the Celtics go out and get Jrue and Porzingis and then Pat looks at me and tells me to go play 80 games and then beat them and then go win a championship with Dru Smith and Caleb Martin as the starting PF. And after all that you’re gonna be disrespectful as shit telling me to shut my mouth and prove myself all over again when you literally already saw it happen and then barely lifted a finger to try and help me out?
