This video also shows my problem with what gaming is today. Everyone is focused on profits, and how much money mobile gaming can make. But no one cares about originality. Ludo star is literally a copy of Ludo, Ludo king etc. Most games on the playstore that are popular today are all copies. As a game designer myself when i see the mobile gaming market, i feel disgusted. Its soul crushing with no creativity running after just one thing, money. This is the worst aspect of indian gaming and indian gaming studios. Everyone is maing a candy crush rip off. Or hay day ripoff. or clash of clans rip off. My problem is with indian gaming and especially indian gaming studios. We dont have a SINGLE proper PC game dev studio in india that is making good AAA or even AA games. Literally all studios are either support studios or mobile studios here to churn out hypercasual bland soulless games. it absolutely kills the creativity of game designers and because their creativity can't flourish here, they go outside. In another country to work on a good PC game or something where their creativity is put to proper use instead of just soulless mobile games and cash grabs.

True and it hurts me to recent i saw some Indian made games and to be honest I they are bad they copy paste sane concepts of pubg but there graphic look like free fire I have some hope with MG but I don't think it will be enough so far what I see it's not that good but I hope for the best

All the Mobile games in India are just cash grabs. No one can call those games "pieces of art". Like any media, games need to judged like art too. Otherwise these kinds of ad blasting games will keep working out here. Indians are just not ready to pay an indie developer for an original piece of art video game.

Genshin Impact's developers Hoyoverse has one of the very inspiring journey from where they started as 3 university students to which is now a big company. They were laughed at when they were trying to get investment for their game but they were focused and confident with their vision. The reason why I think Genshin Impact worked because of Free to Play and the live service, gacha model of the game which requires to get the limited time characters and people tend to spend money in the FoMo (and it was released during Covid time which was also a big boost) and as a RPG, Genshin's story was planned for next 5-6 years in advance which is also have deep complexity which shows that they have confidence in their game to be able to survive 5-6 years in this competitive market is the type of dedication i would like to see from Indian devs if they make any big budget game. In it's early days, Genshin was just thought to be as Zelda clone but as time went on, it became it's own thing. For me I think that, copying something is not bad but devs require to improve on it or bring their own twist which makes it unique to survive in today's market. If making a somewhat copy of game also requires to be of good quality otherwise players would question why would they leave their previous game to play your game. This is a big thing in shooter games like PUBG or CoD which Indian devs need to consider while making the game. And some of them also tried to sell their below average games on the name of patriotism which I think is very cheap move. Game should have its own selling point and good quality to attract players.

The money is in in-game assets and level up buying. No one in India - and most of Asia -like to spend money on games , so obviously the revenue from games is less in India.

Very interesting and fun to watch video from devs perspective. I would rate some of the genres differently. For e.g. like shooter you can build a small game, in RPG also, you can do Alchemy or something like that on small scale. So, both are A or S. Overall good video.

It's hard to stand out in the mobile gaming market, the minute you think your idea is unique and people are playing it, you will find someone made a clone of it and putting a lot money in marketing and eating your share of audience. It feels like you are in the mercy of algorithm or think of the marketing before even creating games. Hey Varun it's a request can you also do a episode only about marketing and distribution of games.

Its not for everyone . its takes years and years of practice. Stories like afsar ahmed happen one in a million stories guys . Dont destroy your lives if you cannot dedicate another decade of your life . Consistency , coding knolwledge , creativity matters
