You need to install a “Bat Pole” or a “slide” to get down and an elevator to get up to the top. So glad you are settling in and posting again. We miss you on this side of the pond but with KZbin you are right next door! France is beautiful. Being part of the EU you are within easy travel to some fantastic places. A friend of mine used to live in France and took the train to Belgium every week for pastries. Also, if and when you can, go to Brecon Beatons in Wales. Amazing dark sky site. Also parts of the Canary Islands have amazing dark sky sites. Wishing all three of you the best in life. Can’t wait to see your next posts. 🇨🇦

What's the light pollution like in that location? also you seem to have the same clouds as me here in Ireland which has be frustrating for a good while now 😶‍🌫 but usually the winder months are better hopefully. Félicitations et bienvenue de retour en France “Pas de sèche linge”, je vois que tu as pris des goûts de luxe aux US ! Le ciel du Nord n’est pas extraordinaire, mais en roulant un peu vers la Picardie, on arrive à avoir des coins où la pollution lumineuse est à peu près acceptable. Je parle d’expérience: ma belle famille est à Douai, nous y allons 1 week end par mois et il suffit de faire 1/4 heure de voiture pour trouver un Bortle 4. Le gros problème en fait s’est surtout l’humidité, qui est sévère dans la campagne 10 mois sur 12.

I wouldn't worry about spiders, you are in France and autumn is coming, temperatures are dropping, in a few weeks they will be gone, but I am worried about the chimneys of the houses around your place to put the telescope, in hell the smoke from the chimneys could interfere with your shots... Best wishes for your little girl, if I can think of a name I would say Aurora.. Best wishes for a welcome to Europe!!

Si tu cherche un bon ciel, avec des prix de maison et terrain accessible, viens voir dans le sud de l'indre et la creuse, c'était un des critères pour mon déménagement. SQM à 21.8 ici. Je vais me monter un petit observatoire sur mon terrain.
