not everyone gets this album, it’s my favorite lana album and the perfect fall album in my opinion, not a lot of people know this but it’s mostly made up of unreleased outtakes from previous albums that never made it like nectar of the gods and cherry blossom were supposed to be on ultra violence but were scrapped and eventually reworked to fit this album

this album is released specifically for the longtime fans, with half of the tracks being "unreleased" old songs.

A lot of people know it’s unreleased outtakes. That’s why some people were really upset. I remember hearing a lot of complaints during the first 5 hours it was released. I was in a huge thread and people were saying this album felt like a blooper, which I DISAGREE WITH. But honestly, while I LOVE this album, it’s a weaker one when you pair them with the ones between it. That being said, I listen to this album at least once every two months lmao

Also I understand your reaction to this album. This is one of those albums where its like you kinda have to be there in order to fully grasp and understand what she's talking about in a lot of these songs. Blue Banisters came out during a not so great time for Lana between her relationship ending, the pandemic, black lives matter and the media terrorizing lana for gaining weight during the pandemic there were a lot of emotions in the making of this album.
@ChanRawrer3 ай бұрын
i think this album is more specific for the fans to understand her stories even more, its for the Lana lore edit: and it's the album with most "unreleased" songs. Dealer, Thunder, Nectar, Living Legend, Cherry Blossom, those were all unreleased songs, written long before this album. this album is definitely for the long time fans ps. That "guitar solo" was actually her voice 😂

Blue Banisters (title track) she met a man who made all these life promises to her (paint her banisters blue, give her children) but he didn’t follow through, her sisters/friends step in instead to heal/support her & paint them instead - banisters going from blue to green/grey could also symbolise bruises from the hurt caused by this man
@coryb74043 ай бұрын
Another thing about this album is that she didn’t even promote it not once she wasn’t really wanting to put this project out because it told a lot about her personal story she said “the album is there for the ones who really care and want to know more but nothing else”

the colour “blue” is often associated with (especially in lana’s discography) the feeling of sadness, and a “banister” is something you hold on to. she is essentially implying with the title that she is holding onto her sadness, whether thats to create her music or because of certain experiences. the overall theme of this album is very deep and not easy to understand with just one listen, which is how it became one of my top albums by her! every time i came back to it i found something new in a track that i didn’t realise or appreciate before

Cherry Blossom is a children's song, It's one of their leaked songs, so the word Blossom means birth, rebirth, creation of a new being (but these are also for a short time). But the sycamore tree, which in ancient Egypt was associated with death, is also mentioned. Fans have theories, It may be her talking to her inner child or that this one was addressed to her sister's child (as she was pregnant when the album was being filmed, she even appears in the Blue Banister music video) and the other is darker, as it is believed that it could be addressed to a possible the loss of an unborn baby, as the whole song is about giving confidence and that could explain why Lana calls him a little ghost.

Can’t wait for Ocean Blvd reaction! I will warn you, the album has really long drawn out songs because the subject matter is heavy and talks about her personal life. This entire album talks about her personal life a lot, so bring some tissues. The best way to describe this album is what the title says: tunnel. You come to a tunnel with all your pain and grief and mistakes, and as you travel through the tunnel it gets darker, and your sorrow overfills, but you then see a light at the end of the tunnel, and your worries and pain slowly vanishes away. The bulk of the album is piano, with two interludes. The interludes are there to tell a story but other than that, they are not really interesting or have replay value. The beginning of the album is more dark and sinister, with piano ballads. The middle of the album is still piano but it’s more ominous in production, talking about very heavy things. And the end of the album is more lighter lyrics and production, with experimental production and trap beats.

you guys totally missed the blue bannisters meaning. the man she was seeing had made promises to her and the metaphor she uses is that he said he would paint her bannisters blue but he never did so she finds solace in her friends and community. the community and her support group come together to help her get over him and paint her bannisters green for her. the baby on the way is her sister's baby she is talking/commenting about the events her support group is celebrating so the way she gets over him is by being surrounded with her people.

please don't just listen to the album, you really have to take in the lyrics, maybe check out Genius while listening to it. that was a big reason this album wasn't as good to you lot as other albums have been. Lyrics (like Ocean Blvd are personal to her and if you know nothing about her life during that time period, it just ain't going to hit). Truthfully reading lyrics and getting a touch of Genius is a MUST for Ocean Blvd album. Otherwise I'm 100% sure it's going to go over y'alls heads.
