I always had a feeling Cherry blossom is about a misscarriage. She went live the day the album was dropped and said that "there's a word, only one word that slipped into the lirycs, that explains everything. But some stories aren't mesmt to be told". It could be def "Angelina", the name she choose. 💔 It was a leaked song for so many yesrs and she finally decided to release it just as it was recorded yeats ago. Maybe she didn't pay too much attention to change the lyrics before release it. Anyway, it's a beautiful and sad song.

The circles she runs in, her level of success, and men she might meet may try to live up to a media image she is not . . . so the "roses" which is a cultivated hot house flower vs violets which are side of the road. Also, your idea that cut roses in a vase do not live long may apply - didn't think of that! Violets for Roses could go on the new album because its preference for simplicity in the lyrics . . .
