Let’s just say that one country was invading another country, they were killing around a hundred thousand people a year, had operations deep inside the country, possibly even the help of parts of the government of that country. Would the US and or NATO send in “peace keeping troops” to protect the democracy? From the wars I’ve seen started, I think so. So how is the US not treating Mexico as a foreign enemy? How is it that US companies are aligned with Mexico to manufacture products for the US at the same time? Plus how is Mexico suing US firearms manufacturers for weapons in their countries owned by the Cartels. Seriously wtf is going on?

It's not financially feasible. Union jobs come with union wages so you'll be paying $60 for a toy for your kid instead of $15-$20 and your income won't increase to compensate. We simply can't do it all and we can't be an isolationist country either. Did you know that the US primarily imports white corn from Mexico and doesn't export any to them? While we grow a shit ton of corn here, the majority of it is not for human consumption. The 39 million bushels of corn that we imported from Mexico in calendar year 2023 is used for human consumption for things like tortillas and corn chips. And did you also know that we import about half of the crude we consume from Canada because our refineries are set up to process that kind of crude instead of the kind of crude we have here. Refineries just can't change how they process one crude to another. If he places his tariff on Canadian imports, they will shut off the supply and we will have to import more from elsewhere because we can only produce so much. It takes years to construct new drilling operations. It's not something that can be set up overnight!
