I'm so happy that Get Real is back with the OG hosts. They are all great but the OGs are the best to listen to. They have a special place in my heart. It felt weird listening to GR without BM. Also, this first subject of speaking hits so hard rn when I found myself in a situation to think if soulmates really exist, not just as a romantic partner but also as platonic/friendship kind of thing. I noticed that you don't need to be completely the same, but the overall vibe feels like you can be comfortable completely with them to speak your mind. Also, I agree with BM, parents are far from being soulmates but their effort keeps them together. The initial spark is what makes them come together but from then on is a constant effort and adjustments I think.

I am so happy that you have returned, and I thank you for this heartwarming episode! I also believe in soulmates, especially in a platonic sense. I have a best friend who I consider to be my platonic soulmate. It started off as a strong friendship, but as we grew older, we realized that it was more than just a coincidence that we got along so well, and understood each other without words (btw, the craziest thing that has happened to us so far is that we had almost the same night dream at the same time!). I think soulmate is someone you feel completely comfortable with (and they are not necessarily a family member). It doesn’t mean you both have to be similar or smth. It’s just a feeling. So I truly believe that soulmates are meant to be in each other's lives!

Ashley asked for plane stories so... I was flying from Nepal to Boston and I missed my connecting flight in London because our flight from Delhi to London got delayed. So, they booked me a room at the Hilton at Heathrow. The next day I finally got on my flight to Boston. I'm sitting and I look up and see this guy and he was to my standards gorgeous. and as I am sitting there admiring this creature. He walks straight towards me and sits down right next to me. I'm awkward AF so I tried to avoid looking for a while. But, I'm get comfortable on planes so I pulled out my slippers and changed my shoes and got ready to sleep. Around dinner I woke up on this guy's shoulder. He also woke up and realized he'd plopped down on my head and Apologized. I started watching a comedy and eventually he got curious as to why I was dying. He asked me what I was watching and started watching it too. We got to talking after the movie. By the time we landed we had kissed and exchanged numbers. We dated for three months but we broke up because his parents wanted me to convert to their religion and he was hot but not hot enough to change religions for.

love doesn’t expire, it transforms ♥️🌱 I think that’s something people get wrong about love. love changing as time goes by doesn’t mean it lessens or ceases to exist, it’s changing; as are you, as is the other person and the dynamic of the relationship itself. it’s not to say that it’s all rainbows and happiness through these changes but you have to adjust and make an effort through the journey if you have chosen your person to continue meeting each other’s needs and wants as you grow older together.

My sister's best friend was her soul mate. They met when they were they were in elementary school, and were attached at the hip until her passing in 2022. My sister described their relationship as soulmates all the time. Forever in our hearts, and forever on my sister's hip (she got a tattoo there in dedication of her best friend.)

i have something similar with matthew’s airplane experience. after college, i was getting ready for my board exam. the day before my review classes start, i was in a coffee shop and this really cute guy walks in and we locked eyes. i blush a little and go on about my book. then a few minutes later he was in front of me asking if he can sit with me!! i look around ALL THE UNOCCUPIED TABLES AROUND US and shyly say yes. here it is, the “man of my dreams” - tall, dark, and handsome - yet all i have going on in my head is “i cant be flirting rn i have a fucking board exam to pass.” so my stupid ass ended up just overthinking things for like an hour and saying bye to him eventually.. movie-like experiences do happen like that irl but i guess the experience ending there and then is also what makes it magical? like the “what if” of it all is what makes you piqued and hooked on that person or feeling.

100% believe in soul mates because I've been with mine for 35 years. I knew he was the person I was going to spend the rest of my life with at first sight. When he passed me, i got a sudden feeling that he was the one. We have been together ever since. No matter what difficulties we have faced (we have been through a lot of difficult times) we always find our way back to each other. We almost got divorced twice but loved each other enough to work things out.

I don't believe in soulmates but I believe in bonding. You will naturally bond with people within your closest proximity. But you need to put in the effort and sacrifice on your part. You get to choose your own circle of friends. That way you can't hide from your own responsibility because that's the kind of circle you've chosen to allow. It's possible to bond with more than one person - naturally. But for the sake of taking things more seriously and going one step further, you have to arrive at only one eventually and stick to what you've chosen (only if that same decision is reciprocated mutually). Else, move on and expand your circle until the right one comes. Stop chasing the car that's going away and lookout for the cars that are heading your way. Sometimes you just gotta stick around the person who lives right, and bond until the feelings come later. Don't just rely on initial feelings as an indicator. That's the worst indicator.
