The outrage for Aang VS Traveler came from a few reasons (I don't mind the MU): 1. Illidan VS Xiao was stated to likely be our first GI episode. 2. Weird kickstarter choice. 3. Po VS Aang and Link VS Aang had a better following, so many were disappointed.

There's also genshin haters apparently, plus the Kickstarter was said to have lowered down when the match was revealed was because people had to withdraw during disasters going on or couldn't use that much money when they had savings for their lives.
