Before I had my accident I finally got out to mow my pastures and it was almost as tall as my tractor. On mother's day I was starting my stihl hand held blower. It has some crazy compression and it kicked up on my lower left leg. It put one heck of a gash down deep and I was lucky that it missed the bone and arteries. It did bleed pretty bad and luckily my wife was close by. After yelling at her she came running out and then put clean dish towels on it to stop the bleeding. I also take blood thinners. I told her to call 911 and in 12 minutes they were there. Closes hospital is in Springfield mo, 40 miles away but they were the place that could help me. The doctor in the ER was quite the doctor and after 21 stitches inside and out we were heading home. It's slowly healing but was told not to do too much, which is very hard for me to just sit around. Maybe after I see the doctor on the 29th I can be doing something! It's funny you mentioned getting unsubscribed from channels because another guy I have been watching for over 15 years, I realized I was unsubscribed and I don't understand why

Sorry about your recent loss, great work on the videos. I think your new grass may be seeing some stress from using the recent weed control from the previous video. Most weed controlls really prohibit new grass besides a select few options like tenacity.

Yeah, you guys are a little north of us, but we've had a ton of rain the last few weeks! (2) 3.5" days and a couple 1.5" days, in addition to the 5" or so week that we had a month or 2 ago. Good spring to be filling a pond! Glad you got it done, because it would be a BAD spring to be digging a pond!

Depending on how well of a stand you do or don’t get on your grass project maybe you could get with a landpride dealership and Try out there PTO driven Overseeder this fall. I bought an old brillion PTO overseeder but while I was doing my research on them there was very minimal information out there on them. I am more than happy with how mine has worked even if they are kind of pricey.

I had a similar issue in my yard, several years back and chose pelletized lime to raise the PH of the soil. It did a very good job and as such I lowered the amount of fertilizer I now use. Best wishes.

A soil sample is your best tool for a project like this. There is no way to tell what the soil needs to grow the best grass. Nitrogen will give a quick but very short burst of green.

Welcome back. New grass is tough, especially in the spring. I don’t recall if you seeded it in the fall or this spring but, as I’m sure you know, fall is definitely the best. In addition to Nitrogen are you hitting it with Phosphorus too?

No phosphorus yet. We weren’t ready in time last fall. So, this is spring seed. We’re pretty happy given no straw cover.

As others have said, take all the time you need as you need. From experience, I know some days for various reasons will be more difficult than others. Sometimes work/activity will help focus away from the pain, and other times, a memory-fest/cry time is what is needed, do again if you need the down time from filming/editing, take the time you need.

Thinking a quicker fix woulda been some Simple Lawn Solutions liquid Fert. 16-4-8 or 6-0-0. I've tried various dry and liquids over past 4 years and the best and fastest and most consistent is liquid spraying with my albeit smaller than your sprayer, 10ft, works great. Put some DEF in the mix too for quick shot of nitrogen. I watch lots of lawn guys and picked up quite a few tricks of the trade. I'm gonna enter Pete's Lawn striping contest and just put down some 6-0-0 with DEF mix to darken up my lawn really nice before striping. :)

Hello...I had a question about the John Deere 1023e about the 3pt hitch...I know it doesn't have position control like the 1025r...my question is does a 1023e 3pt hitch still somewhat float along the ground when tilling? Or is it fixed at the level it's lowered to...like if the tractor tires go over a small pile of dirt will the tiller lift with the tractor as the tires go over the pile of dirt or stay floating along keeping a level tilled surface? Thank you
