Instead of getting mad at Julia for, naturally, not seeing connections I saw, I went and bought the game then made all the connections at my own pace. 9.75/10 game. Thanks for showing it to me!

I'd be super up for watching them play Roottreemania at whatever pace they choose too. I don't have the brain for this sort of thing ATM and the vibes are *impeccable.*
@theomegajuice866013 сағат бұрын
Might be a little diffiicult to return to after a couple of weeks is the only problem. I hope they do play it though because I honestly think it's the better part of the game
@NoThankUBeQuiet12 сағат бұрын
The issue is roottreemania is wayyy harder without amazing notes and even with it it's still pretty tough. I waited a DAY and struggled
@hfbdbsijenbd11 сағат бұрын
Agreed. I took zero notes for the first tree and then took impeccable notes for Roottreemania. And I had them organized by place instead of by name and that made it easier.
@goddessblade9 сағат бұрын
After finishing the main part of the game, my brain was exhausted, so when facing an even tougher challenge, I ended up consulting a guide for roottreemania.

The yearbook convo is killing me- I’m on Jacob’s side because even though I didn’t get one most years because of money issues, we still had the option to buy one every year starting in elementary school. Seniors did have their own SPECIAL pictures in the yearbook which were the senior portraits but those you had to go to a specific company to get done professionally before senior year.

100% this is another Julia only quirk
@theomegajuice866013 сағат бұрын
I am 100% with Julia on this and did not realise that anyone had a yearbook literally every year rather than just for your graduation year. Granted, I'm British and Americanisms like "yearbooks" and "proms" are things that English schools have adopted rather begrudgingly
@BigGrabowski13 сағат бұрын
I had all of three yearbooks (one for elementary, one for middle, one for high school). I don't know if we did them every year, but I don't remember that being an announcement. It was moreso a thing for kids about to graduate from whatever school, and then everyone else's school pictures were included from the other grades. Doing one every year would be insanely expensive, especially since my school was bougie and always did color photos. We had to petition to do multiple yearbooks for high school (and only some people got it).
@rowannnnnnnnn9 сағат бұрын
Just got to this part of the video, I had (at least the opportunity to buy) one every year from K-12 EVEN AT MY TINY ASS PRIVATE SCHOOL THAT I WAS ONLY AT FOR 3 YEARS and I grew up mid-east coast OMG “check your privilege” LMAO IT WAS PUBLIC SCHOOL, CHAT SHE DOESNT EVEN KNOW *HAGS* of COURSE she doesn’t know that I’m LOSING my *MIND* over here 😭😭😭

The $36 was what Ernie Madsen earned from being president of the Roottree company. The intention was for his descendants to earn the real money from the Clansed Trust, which Sam and her descendants were excluded from. Her giving you her portion of the trust would be in the thousands, if not more.
@theomegajuice866013 сағат бұрын
Much more than thousands. Didn't they say that Ernie and Carl's combined time as President made the company "billions". Sam's individual share of the trust must be in the tens of milliions at the very least
@Rognik11 сағат бұрын
@@theomegajuice8660 The question really comes down to how much is in the trust, and how much it's divided into. I thought I'd be conservative in my estimate.

2:11:25 They were so close to finding a very damning clue in here! This was a 10/10 game, I bought and played the game after seeing the first bit of them playing and I enjoyed both looking up things at my pace and seeing both Julia and Jacob's process (cute reminder to show them some grace cause they played this game over the course of 3 weeks so the memories arent as fresh as doing it over less time).

Yeah unfortunately this is one of those games where you are actually meant to read the entire piece of writing _every time_ and that can be a difficult transition for people who are used to "video game writing" as filler around which there is a game.

Spoilers ... Miracle is 14 years younger than the rest of his siblings. I don't have the exact timeline to hand but that means Margo is ~14 when Miracle is born (of course) and realistically the twins would be ~15-17. It's awfully suspicious for Elias and Gwyneth to suddenly have had a new child right after E.C. was disowned at 15...

Ooh, so yearbooks are real, not just american movie thing. What about spelling bees? Are those real? Also do you really sit like in high school musical or mean girls - like by common interests or "function"? 🤔
@nerdywolverine864013 сағат бұрын
spelling bees are real just like talent shows and prom (as in not everywhere does it but it's common), but very segregated cliques like in high school movies definitely don't really exist *now*, if they ever really did. maybe they did in the 80s-90s but 2000s onwards that kind of thinking died off very quickly with the internet and nerd interests becoming mainstream and so on. of course there are friend groups sometimes centered on common interests but when i was growing up that's all they were, even though people saw those movies and had that idea of how school was supposed to work and sometimes tried to define themselves by those categories.
@chriswest698812 сағат бұрын
I always assumed Breakfast Club style cliques were an oversimplification of a semi-real clique system, but now I wonder if they were also just a more palatable stand in for stuff like race and parental income bracket. Like "this jock and this math nerd both like musical theater and each other, even though those groups aren't supposed to mix!" is a fun premise for 12 year olds. Whereas the more common ways people are segregated in real life make for a much weightier topic.
@aliengeo5 сағат бұрын
Yeah there were definitely friend groups but they weren't as aggressive or as rigid as the cliques in movies. I sat with a couple different groups and nobody cared.
@olliejoe77494 сағат бұрын
I know someone else said it already, but yes spelling bees are real. I think there's a national one even like a sport. I was surprised to learn that spelling actually makes sense in most places, so there's no need for a competition. English is both fascinating and stupid
