Just want to give Tara extra props by the way, as somebody that did production for almost a decade.. not only is the multicam switch a genuinely nice touch, and the little add-ins the little inserts etc just elevating things to a better thing.. also one of the very few talking heads podcasts that's OLED friendly I don't know if that was the intention or if just you know a basic level of quality was just you know well of course that's what we're going to do that, we're editing a live podcast.. why why would you not do that? Who knows these days who knows.. but it's really much appreciated... A lot of things I end up having to turn the screen off because it's just a logo or a few and a non-moving background depending on how many frames or if it's just a single frame rarely ever throwing an insert in if ever.. or it's one of those we actually don't seem to understand what the problem is... But tried to mitigate it, thus making us look strange for a tech tips channel... Because that that static background lol and that slowly moving banner are yes that was definitely not the like we solved it by by slowly moving that banner over here at Linus Media group you're welcome.. and I think they actually think they did.. obviously it's not something I can ask for outside of you know video games cuz that's stupid when you can't turn off HUD elements or rearrange them some way or mitigate it in some way, more often than not having nothing to do with the technology of the screen you're using LOL.. but it's funny how this solves pretty much every issue in that line of technology.. and I'm pretty sure it's just cuz Tara is not a basic bitch and it's it's really I don't know that that's just nice to see in any regard.. I hear about so many people that have editors and I sit there just kind of like really.. well I guess that makes sense that you can afford them given how much how many billable hours they probably put into that... oh wait really..? And and it's still 4x3 stretch to 16 by 9 in a 16x9 window..? Okay okay maybe maybe a Counter-Strike editor.. This is getting bitchy.. but like genuinely fucking good shit, something I wanted to say it was never going to come out concise because it's built up with layers of of angst anger and a general confusion at the bizarre directions in modern day video production given how the quality of the tools and equipment has never been more accessible and quality on an almost exponential scale over the last 10 years.. I'm glad that props are given internally because they are very much due just attitude alone that this is something you've since day one managed to not only just actually conceptually consider but hasn't skipped a beat if not started to find a really nice groove for ways to enhance things not blowing smoke like I get the constraints it's just... I don't know I should probably stop talking totally dope please pass your knowledge and basic competency along to others if you can.. unless they're competing for market share of course otherwise well.. obviously you know what to do...

55:00 Even dividing viewers into 'pools' doesn't somehow make those pools not finite, but I just disagree with the framing. Viewers are not in fixed 'pools' where they stay permanently. I personally have swung from watching Yu-gi-oh card videos to watching medievil educational videos via the algorithm in less than a week, neither of which I had watched prior. Each viewer has some logical progression through which they could end up watching or developing an interest in effectively anything else, some things are just more or less likely. A 24 year old who likes GTA 5 has a better chance of ending up watching GTA 5 speedruns than a 85 year old jazz fanatic, but I am still technically competing with jazz content for that 85 old's time. The only difference is I am far more likely to capture the 24 year old than the 85 year old, as the circumstances outside of my control that would lead that 85 year old to my content is quite unlikely. I granted in the video that different reactors will have a greater or lesser effect on channels depending on their trends in demographics, but this does not change the reality that we all exist in the same space competing for the time of the people who interface with this platform for whatever reason. Different creators are just in competion to a greater or less extent for different viewers at this present moment in time. Who is more in competition with whom could change tomorow. Whether Destiny believes this is "wrong" or simply a valid different framing, I likely won't ever know. There are at the end of the day a finite amount of potential viewers with a finite amount of time, the market is finite. Edit: It is implied later he didn't watch the main video. I guess he just watched the Hasan one which was naturally cut down so I suspect it is more a communication issue.

I do want to say something about the "Asmongold react" segment. Usually the videos he watches will be like 10-15 minutes long, but his videos are an hour because he is pausing every 30 seconds to give his own take or go off on some arbitrary tangent or to argue with some idiot in his chat. Even though he is watching other people's content, usually he is linking people to that person before and after he watches the video, giving his own takes, and transforming it into something uniquely his own. Watching Asmongold react to a video is like 30% him watching the video, and 60% him talking about the subject/calling someone in his chat a dumbfuck and arguing with them. You just don't get that level of engagement from a normal Bellular video. Its much better than just sitting there silently watching a youtube video and moving on to the next one once its over. Usually its like 20 minutes untill the next reaction to the next video because he needs to finish up on his hot take about whatever the subject of the video was.
@Joeumadd2 жыл бұрын
It is better but ultimately still is a market substitute to the actual video and the original creator has every right to DMCA you. But if they do then all of twitch comes to cancel you cause you’re trying to defend your intellectual property that is being used in full in another video. It isn’t fine that only 1/3 of the 45 minute video is directly plagiarized from someone else who put in 20x more effort. It doesn’t fall under fair use cause reacting to a FULL video and Re uploading it without getting permission and making money off of it is stealing from the original creator both in the search algorithm and viewership/monetarily which breaks the 3rd and 4th clause of fair use
@arfanik98272 жыл бұрын

Muta, you're very uninformed if you think that Asmongold only recently "blew up" in terms of viewership, and attribute near/all of his growth to reaction content. You also never seem to call out people close to you like Charlie or Oompa for their reaction content either. Edit: Nux at one point opening up with a banger that Actman was on awhile ago and why sub to him if you get all his content a day later on Asmongold's channel- Fair point, but the same should probably be said for Meatcanyon and Oompa. Why sub to Meatcanyon if you can just sub to Oompaville and get all Meat's content a day later? Edit 2: After Actman's interview with Asmongold about his current situation and at the end speaking about loving all of Asmongold's reaction videos on his content, and that it gives him a kind of standard to uphold for his content to be 'good enough' for Asmongold to react to it on stream and enjoy it, it very much throws Nux's entire angle out of the window and therefore rendering it not a banger unfortunately. Edit 3: Nux has uploaded a reaction video to Meatcanyon's "Classic Tate W" animation on his nuxanor channel where he acknowledges how meat is a friend of his and the podcast's before reacting to Meat's content as Meat has outlined he just doesn't appreciate.
