I always thought that without John Bonham’s incredible drumming on ICQYB that it would be a tune that you would have never gotten that excited about back in the day but John Bonham made darn sure that would never happen as George so eloquently just demonstrated, that was off the chart.

George, you are great. Can I ask one question? I am trying to break the habit of starting the triplets with my right hand on the floor tom and left hand on the small tom. Years and years of playing it wrong has made it a challenge to correct. I have even considered crossing my arms so the right hand is playing the small tom. Oh well, it is something to work on. Thanks and I like your jazz playing too. For a long time I was playing jazz and blues. Now I am re-discovering Bonham through your videos.
@BONHAMOLOGY4 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much. Just keep practicing them slowly and build the speed. You can also practice them any place, on you lap when you're away from the drums. You may annoy family and friends though!

I loved the sound of his kit back then. Good job replicating the sound at rah , not so easy. Also great playing! Is that the 602?

Man thats good! Im wondering if you have the transcripcion of ICQYB of this particular song, it would help very much for excersice and build up those fills
@BONHAMOLOGY4 жыл бұрын
No , sorry. I don't write anything out. Thanks for watching.
@kickstar14 жыл бұрын
Damn dude you make it look easy. OK Mr. trivia, why did Page put this version of ICQYB on Coda and call it a sound check? I never figured that one out. It's Page at his finest on that track by the way.
@bonzoleum4 жыл бұрын
kickstar1 I think the intro and outtro (Coda version) are from the show but the middle(most of the recording) is from the soundcheck .
@kickstar14 жыл бұрын
bonzoleum they spliced it up that much?! Cheaters!!
@tomkelsey2303 Жыл бұрын
You forgot to bank your stick off the floor tom and lose it in the beginning drum solo, like Bonham did. 😉

I dont have my headphones but did you use plate ? Spring us the wrong and horrible reverb
@BONHAMOLOGY4 жыл бұрын
I used a reverb plug in on Audacity, it doesn't say if its spring or plate. I don't know what the hell I'm doing, I'm not a sound engineer. I just tried to improve the sound of the recording I did two years ago when I only had one overhead condenser mic. Seems like people here like the sound so far.
@shoestringplayer1064 жыл бұрын
@@BONHAMOLOGY it's ok. Led Zeppelin used plate reverb. Never spring as it is horrible, however if you have a decent plug it by all means go for it. If you ever get plate reverb upload that mix so we can here. Always you plate when you can, will give that Fuller sound without the harsh highs.
