Me and my partner lost our baby on my birthday (Dec 2020) and I cried so hard when I saw the announcement video - in a strange way it really helped me to deal with my loss and still be happy for you guys and other couples. Also, if you dont mind, can you make a video talking more about your PCOS experience? Any symptoms, doctor visits, etc? I was pretty shocked when you said you were diagnosed with it in your pregnancy video. I hope you and Ben continue to stay safe and healthy ❤️

My main symptom was an irregular period. I would bleed for the entire month. I was basically more on my period than not on it. It was SO draining (literally). The doctor didn't have any solution other than to put me back on the pill. My androgen levels and cortisol were pretty high too in 2017. Then in 2020, I got off the pill and was gonna make a doctor's appointment if my period was gonna be non-stop again. Luckily my period evened out somehow in 2020 and then I somehow got pregnant. It's honestly a mystery to me as well since infertility is the most common complication with PCOS. It was a shock, but also a huge blessing.

@@imjennimThanks for sharing! I’m thinking it maybe be worth it to be re-evaluated. I’m a healthcare provider and have PCOS myself, and it sounds like you may have been misdiagnosed? PCOS usually is diagnosed based on oligomenorrhea (infrequent periods), high androgens and/or an ultrasound showing polycystic ovaries. Symptoms typically include thin hair, facial hair, overweight/obesity, etc due to insulin resistance and you didn’t mention any of those. Plus it’s amazing you got pregnant so quickly! Just my two cents. Wishing you the best on your journey ahead :)

I was the SAME way! I plan everything. I’m a perfectionist. I got pregnant when I wasn’t expecting to after being on birth control for 10 years. That’s how serious I was about not having a baby. And let me tell you...this experience humbled me! We are so capable. I never used to picture myself as a mom and now I can’t even picture my life not being a mom. I’ve found myself in a way I never knew was possible. I am so confident in myself. I feel so nurturing and like I can take on the world. I let go of the fear because I had to! I also got therapy throughout my pregnancy because those anxieties were so real. Life knows when the time is right. I’m now pregnant with my second baby and sometimes I can’t even believe this is my life! My sweetest wishes to you. You’ll be an amazing mama!!!!

My sister has PCOS and like you was expecting a long journey ahead of trying before getting pregnant, only to get pregnant the first time! It's a blessing to have a partner who is more go with the flow, open to possibilities because it grounds you and gives you a perspective you might not have naturally. Your body changes, ligaments and body tissues loosen, and as your belly becomes bigger, your center of gravity changes and shifts forward. Watching this really took me back to my pregnancy. I have to be honest, 2 years into motherhood, I'm still really struggling with the adjustment. Trying to plan photography and travel on top of being a parent is extremely stressful. Physically being exhausted is one thing, but mentally transitioning/accepting the loss of the life you had previously is something I did not expect at all. Hope this journey won't be too tough for you guys. You're going to be great parents!

But I’ve been so blessed with two beautiful children who were unplanned but very welcome. My first happened because I had gone off of birth control too (I was waiting to get an IUD) and my second I wasn’t planning. But everything happens for a reason and I am so grateful because growing up fearing that it would be hard to be a mom and now having my babies, I appreciate motherhood even more. You both will be amazing parents and I look forward to watching your journey ❤️

Planning never worked for me either. I have 3 little ones and they all came when I least expect it. I’ve learned that children will come when they want to including when you’re going into labor! Good luck and have a safe pregnancy/labor.
