So I don’t drink for religious reasons. But I love like mocktails and virgin drinks. But twice I have had an issue. Kelsey, just because everyone’s journey is different, doesn’t mean you don’t get to have feelings about your pregnancy. It must be incredibly difficult to find out so quickly. A serious shock. You are entitled to however this journey has made you feel, hormones or otherwise. Just because some people have a hard time getting pregnant, doesn’t mean you cant feel like this happened super quickly and you’re still catching up/or whatever comes with that. She’s just being sensitive to people with fertility issues which is very kind. A lot of people struggle to hear how “easy it was” to get pregnant or “we were barely even trying” those people who have been struggling for years to make a family… I think she’s really empathetic and sensitive to those people and trying not to be too blasé about how easy it was for them. She’s acknowledging that they’re super lucky for it to be this easy.

Which indicated to me that maybe she isn’t able to feel (or just share) that even though it was easy for her, that it can still be challenging. I just wanted her to know there’s room for her to feel any way she does despite others not having it happen so quickly or easily. You can be grateful it was easy, while still being scared or worried or blindsided by just how fast it was. Even if others have not had that experience.

I wouldn’t say it’s purely delusional on your part, though it’s not real in a personal sense. (I personally don’t feel the parasocial connection because I don’t usually follow these two, just exploring the effect it is meant to have on people.) The sharing of personal, private information and moments on the part of K&K is intended to create a feeling of closeness with their followers. That parasocial connection is how they make their money, and it’s also probably real for them to an extent (caring that they are liked by their fans on a personal level). Vlog-based celebrity is a strange phenomenon because the product is the feeling of “friendship and intimacy” with the celeb, not a separate talent or skill that they are selling, like acting, a sport, art, etc. It all feels pretty weird to me tbh, though I get it’s very common and real for people to engage in these things. I feel like there should be a clear boundary between the public and the private spheres of life but social media has totally blurred that-it’s a bit concerning to me. I hope their kid will grow up with privacy and without exposure to the negative effects of celebrity culture.

I’m so glad other people feel/felt this way too! Like, “who is letting me buy this *pregnancy test* by myself right now?! I am definitely not grown up enough for this! I need an adult!” And in the same vein, after giving birth and having the nurses’ help in the hospital for those few days and getting ready to go home, “Wait… they’re just letting us take this baby home?! BY OURSELVES?!” I vividly remember saying exactly that to my husband and feeling so young and panicky in those moments. So many emotions!

I don’t feel angry or anything negative at all for you having a baby so soon. I was just so happy for you. That's very gracious of you. Those people really need to understand that. It seems as if someone did make her feel bad. Who knows.. but just from the way she spoke it just felt as if someone did or she’s anticipating someone might. Jealousy is a natural emotion you can’t control that, but actions and speaking on those emotions just ruin and hurt her. People shouldn’t make people feel bad about their experience because their experience was different as I said. Took me a long time to have my baby girl and I know how pregnancy is. No one should be making a wonderful soon to be mother that’s carrying and growing her blessing inside of her feel guilt or bad for doing so. That’s all i meant really. My husband and I were also trying but not trying, and I also just... "had a feeling" to take a test. At midnight, I took an expired test that was super positive, and I had to wait until stores opened the next day to get a good test! I wasn't late, just 4 weeks pregnant with twins, haha.
