Pensacola NAS aviation museum you won’t be disappointed, Pcola beach, many restaurants. Walk downtown palafox street there’s a lot to do at night it’s mostly adults , day is just fine for children...... enjoy I live in navarre just east

When you're in Monroe, you have to try boudin (pronounced bou-dan). If you're stopping in New Orleans, you need to leave the camper behind and go downtown to Central Grocery and buy a Muffelatta. My youngest daughter lived there for three years, and we bought one before I helped move her to Ohio. Had a great lunch sandwich for two days. We had planned on taking our 13' Scamp to Florida (From Minnesota) for all of January and February. We ended up finding flights for $30 each way, so we made the painful choice of just flying out 3-4 times those 2-months (mainly due to our Retriever handling 2 month's in that 13' Scamp). Anyway, we had already done most of the planning, and here's a few suggestions. On the first day, leave as early as possible and plan on getting a hotel room the first night. Your still gonna be in cold climates unless you drive straight through. Find a car wash as soon as you get out of the Salt Belt. The road salt will really tear up a Scamp frame. Make sure you get in all the nooks were salt can/will collect. Same with the Fiberglass Gel Coat. Bring a tube or two of "Sila Seal", the sealant around all the windows and belly seam will be extremely hard from the cold, and as you go down the road that sealant will crack from the vibrations. The thin fiberglass also is not as pliable, watch for Spiderweb cracks and damage. When you get into warmer climates check your sealant and repair as needed. Also keep a look out for missing rivets, rubber seal around door (will harden), and failing Rat Fur glue (the glue that holds the Rat Fur can give way from extreme cold and traveling). Watch out for the roads and traffic around Memphis and Northern Mississippi especially, horrible traveling in that area from my experience. If I remember, your tires are new and bearings are serviced, if not, that's a must. Wouldn't be surprised if you have at least one blow-out on a 3k mile trip like that. Just be pre-pared, and pull over if you feel any signs at all of tire issues (Blow outs can be dangerous on single axles, and tire rubber will damage the fiberglass wells). Put your hand over the bearings at every stop for excessive heat. I would also suggest a couple of heating blankets and 12V heater. Nights will be cold everywhere, and those will take the edge off, using the campgrounds Electric. Speaking of campgrounds, they can fill up the more south you go, plan ahead. A "RV" Roadside Assistance plan is also recommended. Finally, above all else make sure your Carbon Monoxide detector is not expired and working properly if you plan on using the furnace. Can be very dangerous in a small camper like these, especially when sleeping. Sounds like a fun trip, Safe Travels!

On the way, if you go by Vicksburg Mississippi, the Union ironclad, the U.S.S. Cairo is on display at the battlefield. It was raised from the river and is displayed under a pavilion. You can walk out on it and it is awesome. Also near Jackson, Mississippi is a petrified forest. It is very cool. Dont miss the Battleship and Submarine in Mobile as well as Forts Morgan and Gaines. In Pensacola the Naval Air Museum is a must see.

Florida has City of Vero Beach has great food taco dive and a Tasty O’s located on 14th Ave. I recommend that you go to Tasty O’s first and go to taco diner second.
