For people curious about what Distillery they're talking about they used in Indiana. Its call MGP. They're behind a lot of bourbon brands that do not distill their own juice. From WhistlePig, Smoke Wagon, and Angel's Envy to name a few.

People complaining about a craft distilled 8 year old 45% wheat bourbon bottle for $120 don't really know much about craft whiskey. This is quite reasonable.

@richardharrold9736 I mean I would consider an average 12 year old single malt to be Glenlivet 12. Around me that is ~$45 or maybe Loch Lomand at ~$40 both nice large scale single malt scotches aged 12 years. not exactly craft though , and its 1/3 not 1/4. Maybe you have a different one in mind? Still though wheated bourbon tends to cost a lot. I have not tried it so not sure if it is even any good. I am interested in trying it though as my favorite bourbons are Weller wheat special reserve 12 year which ran $150, and Blanton's at ~$120-150 a bottle. If its a premium bottle (again I have not tasted it) then I am good with the price. I only occasionally have a Glencairn to drink so I like to have a few nice bottles and sip/enjoy a 2oz pour over an hour or so ~weekly. If I were taking down a bottle a week I would be buying much cheaper stuff. as is though, I buy a bottle or 2 every quarter and this is going in the collection.

@richardharrold9736 Its not a no name distiller making it though, and unlike a lot of influencer whiskeys I appreciate that its not just a sourced MGP whiskey but an actual craft distillery making it. ASW is small but makes pretty good stuff. I am regional to them and have had their pours at various whiskey bars here in the south. I have always been pleased with the results. As to slop we call whiskey? I am a fan of the "the best whiskey is what you like" I don't really care where its from if its interesting. My favorite whiskey period is probably Yamazaki 12, a Japanese whiskey. My favorite Irish is actually also 12 years, redbreast 12. both just nicely complex good bottles.

John, we were founded in 2011 and opened the current distillery in 2016. Ed just swapped the dates around about when we started entering our bottles in the San Franciso World Spirit Competition. These particular barrels actually come from another distillery anyway though.
