What came to mind for me was maybe Mesa - when you talked about the flat top, and thinking about how I use the Dune; I used to sandboard down our Sand Dunes here in Utah, and when I throw the Dune I always remember that, and how sandboarding felt under my feet really reminds me of the Dune’s flight. The direction you commit is the direction you go, but it’s a little slippery. Watching this video made me think how I used to also mountainboard down the side of this Mesa in Southern Utah, and those things are so solid, they’re flat, and they’re amazing. Neither sand dunes or mesas are too daunting or huge like mountains - they’re both pretty approachable and exciting for adventures haha.

I like the name Ridge. A little more solid and stable than a shifting dune. If you go over the ridge, you're more overstable, but on the ridge is reliability and beautiful views! Stoked to follow this video series and creation process!

@@cjrogus You can as a brand has used the same name becuse a very old no longer in service brand has the same name as used by a newer brands disc. Now with the Ridge and fact Vibram is now making discs again though they are pricey at $45--$45 per disc this might not work as brands are asked to not have the same name.

Yep, cool. Probably not one for myself, as I'm not a big user of overstable discs (which could be 'cause I'm still a solidly "intermediate" player, with not a very powerful throw). But I love what y'all are doing at TP, and I like you sharing the process with us. For the record, when it comes to the current stable.......the Inner Core? - like it but don't love it, and it is not my go-to putter; the Dune? - absolutely LOVE this disc, and in fact it's not only my fave TP disc, it's actually my favourite disc overall (if I only had "one disc", which I sometimes do, it would no question be a Dune); the Ozone? - really like this disc a lot, and a great companion to my Dune; the Extraterrestial? - ehhhh, cute and fun I suppose, but not something that makes it into my bag (way too much fade for my style/throwing). And yes, what I'm really itching for is that (future?) distance driver that I end up loving as much as my Dune and Ozone.
@caseysmith544Ай бұрын
I am not a very powerful thrower, yet I use a Shark in star and I have used an old rare style low profile Wizard for an approach disc back in the 2000's and I have a few Champion Destroyers for days I probably should not be playing mainly wind and second use spike shot over the trees.
@user-ri2ee4qg7kАй бұрын
@@caseysmith544 The other thing I'm really interested in (from TP) would be the flat to domey variations of a single mold, as per the experimenting they were doing a couple weeks ago. I think having different stability Ozones, or Dunes, would be pretty cool. There seem to be a lot of talk about this being a possibility.

Mantle for a name idea - approach sounds likew it's speed/glide is less than a dune (crust) but more than a core. But i could also dig a name like bedrock - since it's sort of in the mid range, but more beefy. it's in the crust but more solid.
@caseysmith544Ай бұрын
I say Pyra-mid as those are a more reliable thing in the Egyptian Desert of the Sahra where some impressive sand dunes are found in a different part of the same desert near Moraco and mid, short for midrange is in the name of the disc. If not go Outer core or Inner Mantel/Mantel depending on if the disc is more putter like with Outer Core or is more midrange like with Inner Mantel/Mantel.
