I’ve been mixing v30-Crwamback H for a while and it sounds fantastic, rich, full, but still pleasant and mellow enough compared to 2x V30s. I also use neo Creamback + v30 quite a lot and I didn’t realize it had any drawbacks compared to a regular Creamback.

Greenback + G12H30 (anniversary) and Alnico Cream + GG12M65 Creamback are my favorite pairings

Just when I think I've got a handle on it you turn it upside down. Luvin the info. I'm sure when I order mine, I will have gotten the right driver. Can't wait to hear them all. Keep up the good work and I will see you on the tube.👍👍✌️

The neo v and the neo cream back might be fun to hear together too. Plus, you have the added benefit of a lower weight cab..

I think the close micing is for what speakers sound on recordings and in a mix, a blend of both room and close is ideal for the overall sound I think.

I like to combine a G12M Greenback with a G12T-75, and a few weeks ago I learned I'm not alone. The Greenback gives you those beautiful warm mids, the G12T-75 fills up the bass and has more edge in the top end. Creamy and thunderous at the same time. They're both 97 dB speakers, that's a plus.

I put a type a and type v in my mesa open back cab and love it. I'd love to hear this combo in a barefaced cab. The type v imo has a little less high end hiss than the v30.

I agree with Alex. It is difficult to discern what a speaker and/or cabinet sounds like with a close mic on the speaker. Most KZbinrs typically use a Shure SM57 which to my ears does not sound very good at all. When creating profiles for my Kemper, I will use a ribbon mic a few feet away from the speaker and I have found the result to sound more like my amp actually sounds when listening to the resulting profile. In other words, I don't listen to my amp with my ear aimed directly at the speaker, on axis, near the edge of the dust cap. In most KZbin demos, this is where these mics are typically placed to try to balance the different frequencies which are dispersed unevenly (as Alex states, in different polar patterns) from different parts of the speaker.

Yes, I like to hear all the combinations.... 😊. But I think the combination with the neo 250 copper back and the bn12-300s would be perfect for my baritone and my lower tunings on my guitars... If the sound makes me happy, it also effects my guitar playing. It's not necessary to hear the guitar sounds loud but in the best way. 😊🤘🔊🔥🔥🔥

I tried a Heritage g12m and g12h 55 combo in a closed-back 2x12 cab. Amp was a JTM45 clone. I thought it sounded great but I had to really keep the bass knob low as it got a bit boomy rather easily. The mids were just perfect and the highs were really penetrating. At high volume it sounded monstrous. Also, the H dominated the tone slightly. What are your thoughts about those issues?
@chrisstevens4680 Жыл бұрын
Maybe Alex could comment. I have had the same issue with 'boomyness' on one of my set ups. They do a bass cut on some of their cabs. I am assuming that it is by adding a capacitor in series to roll of the low end. So what sort of value cap would be needed? WRT the G12H dominating the sound, the sensitivity of a G12M is 97db and the G12H is 100db, so it is louder than the G12M.

is it ok to pair an alnico blue 8ohm with a greenback 16ohm?
@BarefacedAudio8 ай бұрын
Is that series or parallel wiring?

@@BarefacedAudio parallel
@BarefacedAudio8 ай бұрын
@@MARBSTUDIOI can't see that working well as it'll make the Greenback even quieter and it means the Blue will get twice as much power even though it has only half the power handling. Series wiring might work ok because you'll double the power hitting the Greenback, making it louder and splitting the power distribution better to suit the speakers' power handling.
