We recently bought a house in Tuscany. We will be dividing our time between the Amalfi Coast and Tuscany, alternating every 2-3 months for now. We are not selling our Positano home, we will be back there in late March. Our blind cat Itty Bitty Kitty is being looked after by our nephew who lives upstairs and is in good company with Not-My-Cat and Not-My-Kitten.

I am married to an Italian American. Purely Italian because both sets of grandparents immigrated from Italy. He is a lot like Carlo. The happiness of a new home was totally summed up by Holly and Indi diving into their beds with such glee and snuggling down. Very similar to Nicki snuggling into hers. Your new home is coming along beautifully. Your dad is such a dear! I cant wait to see how charming and convenient it is already shaping up. Many of us were shocked at the condition the former owners were allowed to leave the house in. Including the red tape and difficulties in just buying your dream home. Now we are learning other things like cashless banks, limits on accessing your own funds via debit cards, and sorry to say some rather unpleasant comments. Ah Nicki & Carlo… I did not think I could love your channel more than all of your videos in Positano by the sea. I’ve discovered I was mistaken as Tuscany has long been in my dreams. You’ve purchased a gem of a house and your DH Carlo appears equally thrilled. The best of both worlds exists for you now with being able to move between two equally gorgeous locations. I cannot be happier for you both! Carlo, since the legs on your kitchen sink cabinet are falling off, you can purchase a “Table Leg Straight Top Plate” to screw into the bottom of the cabinet at each corner, then screw each leg into one of those plates to secure them. I’m sure you’ve probably considered other ways, too. Re-glueing & doweling where possible may help so you can reuse the cabinet on your garden patio. The prices for your purchases are amazingly low, which is perfect! I’ve found some amazing furniture finds second hand and find it helps create a curated look. Your pups have taken a shine to Tuscany… they must find the freedom to roam exciting. That sunset shot is worthy of creating prints for sale. I know I’d buy one to frame & hang on my wall. Please continue to take us on adventures through Tuscany and second hand shops. Loved everything you bought. If you have time make your videos longer, please consider it. I’m so excited to see you’ve published a new video and am always wishing for more when the end comes. I’m sending you beautiful people my kindest wishes for many more happy & adventurous years together. I’m sure family will be eager to visit. i am shocked and boiling over the debit card limit when it's your actual cash! and then when you ever said, 'cashless bank', i couldn't stop laughing because they really all ARE cashless. We wanted to cash a 6k check at a bank in America and you might have thought we were robbing them. They sent us to another branch and said, 'we don't keep that kind of money in the bank'... criminals. the world over.

Please cover the well with wire! It would be horrendous if the dogs chased the pigs or were being chased by the pigs and fell in and you didn’t know where they were until they died! Cover for safety!!

yes! Hunters hate other dogs than their own. please be careful. maybe the dogs will need a neon yellow vest too, and covering the well is a very wise idea. I bet a lot of souls have already perished in it...

I enjoy you taking us to the 2nd hand markets and the local walks. I know in other areas of Italy when its hunting season, local people with dogs put something on their dogs (bells?) so the hunters don't mistake the movement in the bushes/trees for a boar etc. Love the sunset. You both look very happy.

Yes, my friends in the US have special reflective vests for themselves and the dogs to wear in hunting season.

In Italy, hunting areas are closed to non-hunters during the hunting season and are well marked by signs, so theoretically the possibility of running into danger is extremely limited. There have been no accidents involving non-hunters for years for this very reason. If Carlo and Nicki don't let their dogs loose near prohibited areas there won't be any problems, my advice is to find out where the hunting areas are and stay away from them during the hunting season, the countryside is very wide and they can walk elsewhere with serenity.

You two seem like two 20 year olds setting up house together, both working very hard. Very exciting. You're going to love Tuscany. I lived in Lucca for 30 years and I miss it badly. But before that we moved house about 12 times...4 times in Rome 3 times in Sardegna, twice in Sicily, Taranto and twice in Lucca. We became excellent packer uppers. Be careful in the hunting season in Tuscany - it's the region with the most casualties from hunters - civilians and the hunters themselves. In Italy in 2023/2024 there have already been 12 deaths and 56 wounded. Be careful with your lovely dogs, some hunters are very trigger happy!. Anyway, on with the good work. 🤩☑

What a beautiful video! That magnificent sunset at the end really made your home so warm and inviting. So happy for you Nikki finding this place with it's many trails to walk on, the open fields of green pasture grass. Watching you, Carlo and the dogs really enjoying yourselves. The well that you found earlier, maybe Carlo when he has a moment to make a cover strong enough to sit over the well. That can be very dangerous if the doggies are ahead of you or perhaps other animals or people. And hunting season. I was startled to see the man with the rifle over his shoulder. Am thinking of the dogs, where some one may think its a boar or a deer and try to shoot it. You, Carlo, the dogs, your dear friends, and your family might be able to come visit you there, and enjoy the Tuscany Valley. The main good reason for using a credit card (in UK) is your purchases are protected. If store goes bust you will get your money back. I use my for all major large purchases plus travel - pay it off every month - never paid interest for over 30 years! Love your blogs - wish there were more - cannot wait for next Sunday. XX

Carlo looks so happy when all he has to contend with is one step, such a novelty. You both look so joyous with your new house, moving in will have saved you so much time in your day. The stainless steel sink top will do well as part of an outdoor kitchen. I wasn’t clear as to whether you are using a credit card, if you are, brilliant as you are protected if you have problems with your purchases etc. Can I suggested to help you with your sleep you create a Day Book where you list your jobs etc and break them down into sequential jobs, now I’m old school and like a paper A4 book, my husband who was a property developer liked a good spreadsheet where he’d list the job, the materials, if an expert was needed etc. You both look so happy and although working hard relaxed. Enjoying being included in your journey 🎉😊

You're very lucky to have a husband who is handy and can fix anything. Indy's eyes are very attractive (watch her eyes when you drove back leaving the 2nd hand market), and cute to see the dogs just get comfy in their grandpa's gifts. Carlo is an easy going man, so while having the lovely house to come together, I am sure he is just happy to fix the house and eat whatever food the wife is preparing, even the simplest food he is going to cherish it. for the table a mix of olive oil and lemon juice.. 2to 1… for extra cleaning add a little salt!you can then repeat without salt.. gives old wood a great finish..

How exciting! You've found some excellent bargains at the secondhand market. Holly and Indie seemed to love their new doggie beds from England. And you finally got the whimsically-painted chair you've been coveting (it reminds me of my rainbow-colored SW petroglyphs chair I painted years ago). Your new Tuscany home is starting to acquire its unique personality and character with all of the beautiful furniture. A little spit and polish and it will really pop!
