When I was a kid, we lived in a house with very few neighbors around. Then 25 years later, I talked to a neighbor who had lived behind a wooded area and a hill about 400 meters away so you couldn't even see the house. He half sassed me and said "oooh, you're the drummer.." So yes, neighbors and drums. Sound proofing ist krieg.

I lucked out when I was was in my early teens and first started playing. I did have a neighbor that was always ill about something or other who actually called the cops on me. What she failed to realize was that the local police chief also lived within earshot of my drums, and he actually said he enjoyed listening to my progression as a musician and to keep up the good work lol She just hated the fact that I played mostly metal as my kit wasn't anywhere near overbearingly loud even from half the distance to her house. She just loved to complain and be miserable. She once even called the cops on me for having timber wolves, saying that their occasional howling was severly disrupting our neighborhood's peace; she was told, in no uncertain terms, to put a sock in it and to stop calling them with reports of frivolous nonsense. It's safe to say she really had a strong dislike for me and my devil music/howling wolf ways 😂
