Metatron We're in the process of moving this whole month! We can't start living there until Jun's parents get back, since someone needs to stay here to take care of Leo. :)

Tania LoNero No, she's almost 17 years old. It'd be really hard to uproot her from the house she's lived in her entire life! Plus she's not especially attached to us--she doesn't really care who takes care of her. So she'll stay here with Jun's parents. :)

Lol! I know exactly what you mean about the boxes and having sooo much stuff. I've done the exact same thing. Collected a huge pile of boxes, thinking I have way more than I need, only to run out half way through packing up and then panicking to find more. It always seems like you don't have anything until you try to pack it all up. And then it's like, "Where did all this stuff come from"?

My local bike store gave me a three-wheeled bicycle because they couldn't sell it and I used it to move in Japan. Lots of trips back and forth and my friends at the store also helped me with their small truck. I even threw away a couch dismantled into garbage-bag sized bags. That was a lot different than when I finally decided to move back to the U.S. from a dingy apartment that my cousins helped clean. It looked better than when I moved in. I'm not sure I've repaid them for that favor.

OH, I SO feel your pain! We have moved so many times.... not a 'hop skip & and a jump" but cross country (with some short city moves in between) before kids... WELL, now we have 2 little ones, preschoolers at that, and we have, what I hope is one final move to a location we (Naruya & I) both agree on that gives him most variety of job selection & centrally located for both our families & culturally a middle ground (HAWAII!!!). OH, not fun moving with little ones, but they have been stellar!!! I am so blessed to have such a great family. Extended & immediate. Fortunately we got rid of most everything and will get replacements on the island little by little... joy... I went thru all that packing issue w/Naruya early on, now I do all the packing except maybe his stuff he does...long story...You guys are awesome!! Good job guys!

I just went through this a few weeks ago. So inconvenient and tiring! Just figuring out what to do with the trash is a pain. Like you, I tried to plan ahead and disposed of a lot of things before the last minute, but order and planning always seems to break down as the deadline looms near. Anyway, I'm sure you two have great things to come. By the way, are you going to have to change the name of your channel? I use moving as a way to unload all the crap I have collected. If you're going to be biking a lot at your new place, you might look at getting a 'truck' bike. VERY useful if your not planning on getting a motorized vehicle. I also never pack the essential dishes, they go in a plastic bag in the passenger seat on the last trip.

I hate moving!!!!!!! I was gonna warn against using fruit boxes to move but I was too late. When my wife and I moved into our nice 2 bedroom apartment from our semi finished basement apartment we used banana boxes to move our stuff. Hey, they are strong and they have handles. We stored them in our extra bedroom we used as storage. A few days later i opened that door and i was hit by a swarm of tiny fruit flies. It looked like you ( Ryosuke ) did a very good job of cleaning up the old place. Did it pass inspection ok? Was there a security deposit for the old place and did you get it back? I think in later videos you both seem happier living in the country. I lived in Houston, Texas for almost 30 years but for almost two years now I have lived in very small town called Cherryville, NC....population 5.862 errrr i mean 5.863 now. I love living in a small town. Someone once told me when you live in a small town everyone knows your business. Haha I am 57 yo , i live alone on disability.......I don't have any business. If anyone learns about any business I have I wish they would tell me. I hope you are both very happy in your new home. Thank you for all the fun videos.

I would have loved if you have said about something about where you bought the boxes. If you hired a moving company how much it would have costed. And your security deposit, did you get it back? Where did your father in law get or hired the truck? Those would be practical information I love to know.
@sammyauscux95298 жыл бұрын
she told that she got the boxes for free when buying food (well most of them) and then they went and bought just a few boxes at a store nearby. I think in the apartment tour video she said that they had to pay a key deposit (something like that) so you can rent the place which you don't get back and on the side of the truck it actually says "Nippon Rent-a-car" so I bet that's the information where the father in law got the truck from.

What about "Texas & Tokyo" or "Texan & Tokyoite"??? My OCD annoys me seeing both an demonym and a city name together but thats just me, actually "Texan & Tokyo" sounds better and is closer to the original name so don't listen to me! ;) PS: moving really sucks... maybe not the moving itself but the prior preparations and having to put ALL your stuff in order is a pain.
