The best stories start with "We didn't plan on doing this, but..." It's one thing to plan for a safe passage. Planing on having a good time often just creates stress! :-) Thanks again for sharing!

So true! :-) We like to not have everything planned. It makes life a lot easier and spontaneous and like you say, it keeps the stress levels down... :-) Thanks for watching!

when I watch your videos it makes my heart sing. My wife and I are 63 and retired land lubers all our life. We live on a beautiful farm in the Ozark mountains of Missouri U.S.A I want to go sailing so bad and we are very adventurous but all around us say we are crazy. By the grace of God it will happen.
@RANSailing7 жыл бұрын
Of course it will happen if you want it too! And don't listen to what other people say. We say, go for it :)

As a sailor I love your story of the adventure, the passage and life at sea. As a geologist I love the story that the vision of the mountains tell of volcanic eruptions and erosion of the landscape.Your video skills and presentation just keep getting better as they look even more professional each episode. Well done.

I just couldn't let a warning sign go by without getting a translation = "Dangerous area for (bathing) swimming". That sculpted shoreline is awesome. Even your "not well prepared" adventures are great. Your way of visiting new places is the best...!!!

Hey Guys! Been watching your videos since the beginning. One of the things that I have noticed is that you will spend a lot of time hiking around the places you visit. I would recommend that you may want to consider using "Hiking Gators". They will prevent the stickers, thorns and small stones from getting into your shoes or hiking boots. I use mine every day as I walk 4 miles on dirt and gravel at my place here in north central Texas just south of Mineral Wells. Loving your videos. My very best regards, Irwin!

Those islands are paradise for photographers/videographers. The location with the amazing rocks and the big waves was just fantastic! Now, definately I want to make a long stop with my boat there when eventually we will sail away. And I will just spend hours and hours capturing the fantastic nature of those amazing islands!!! Thank you guys. Watching this while you are now half was to Hawaii. Have a safe trip.

Love your videos, they show the everyday cruising life without resorting to 'look how cool we are' or trying to gain viewers with gratuitous T&A. Did you visit the fish cannery? When I was there, many years ago, they were hand-soldering the cans. Went there looking for a V-belt for our alternator, they didn't have one, but put out the word to the rest of the town and we found one the right size or close enough, the next day. Great experience with the lovely people there. We were invited to dinner at the belt provider's home and had a lovely evening, even though we did not speak Portuguese but did have some Spanish and Catalan, you learn to make do.
@RANSailing8 жыл бұрын
No we didn't know that you could visit the cannery. That would have been interesting! We think people here in the Cape Verdes is really friendly! And they are good at fixing stuff to, like the alternator problem we had in our last episode. :-) Thanks for watching!

People with little money find creative ways to accomplish their goals, instead of simply buying their way out of the problem, or resorting to unattainably expensive technology. We're all falling into the great chasm that is 'unrepairability', forcing us to give up more of what is becoming increasingly more difficult to obtain, money, in order to keep shareholders and CEOs happy. Rant over.

[Liz] I've been told by every cruiser I've met who has been there, that the Cape Verde islands are fantastic, even the best place they've ever made landfall. From your footage, I can see why! Have you made friends with any local people, and what is the welcome like? Peace and fair winds!

OK, You never said How you got out of that place they dropped you off at 4:07 Bout them sandstone cliffs there were interesting, And the Drone footage 6:52 Was FABULOUS 😳😎👍✅. I sure wish they still had that model Toyota 11:09 Land Cruisers but even if they did they aren’t sold in Merica Any more, the middle East and Australia 🇦🇺 still have them 🤭🤔
