No click bait titles, no soft porn, no disasters, no overly dramatic music like some sailing channels. just cruising how it should be.

Sailing film makers should consider that there's a sizeable audience who automatically clicks out of that kind of content and will never ever monetize it. Narcissistic sailing channels don't just impair the experience, they offend the viewer. I avoid show-offs. Normal sensibilities turn their backs on them.

So let me be honest with you and hope you do not take it wrong way. I found your channel few months ago and watched all episodes … some even twice. Why? Coz the way you are able to capture the essence of that location where you are in the moment is unseen of. And when I say this, trust me, I follow at least 7-10 sailing channels. Nobody comes to you guys … not even close. But here is my “challenge”. Your videos are so rare … very rare. I understand that it takes a fair amount of time to create and edit the videos, but I would personally prefer to have it every other week like many other channels, or at least on monthly basis. I am not interested in your financial situation, but the idea of youtube is very noble and good - to help you channel creators to earn even more money and support your life style and your boat maintenance. Btw, your deck needs a fresh teak oil layer. If you decide to move it to growth, you still do not have to loose your “privacy” … tbh I am less interested about you two then about the nature. OF course, would like to know more about you as well :) but the nature shots are stunning. This “opening” to more regular stream would give you more pattreons. Anyway, I am writing this while watching your dad in the cockpit. Have to finish this video and 🤞🤞🤞 we get another video from you before year end :).. Stay safe both of you.

Dang…! Reading all the comments I realize the my wife and I weren’t the only people concerned that after sailing over the horizon from Tuomotu there was no word from y’all for over 4 months. So, we get it, you’re doing what you’re doing because you want your freedom (including freedom from social media). Hopefully you can see from the comment section on this video that there are people who truly care about your well-being! I personally DON’T want to pressure you to produce a certain number of full length cinema quality videos via some time table, but maybe, for those of us who have kids your age, that worry, you could possibly put up a very short (30-45 second) video update now and then in between your full length videos so us “old timers” don’t lose sleep at night wondering if you’re at the bottom of the sea! So glad to see that all is ok! Keep rocking it!

Huahine main town looks pretty much as it did in 1973. Glad of that. When I was living on Tahiti and traveling around, I found Huahine to be the most beautiful and relaxed of all the Society islands. Men still wore flowers in their hair at work. Happy to see that, unlike Bora Bora, some of the magic still remains elsewhere.

We primarily use an Olympus om-d e-m5 III camera. It's not pro level but it's been a great camera for us. As for weather routing, we are careful to avoid hurricane season in the affected lattitudes. Other than that it's just a matter of keeping an eye on the forecasts daily. We use the book World Cruising Routes to help pick passage routes and timing.

You guys always do a fantastic job with the audio and background sound. The way you mic the sound of the sea and the water swishing past Julia. The birds chirping on your hike. The sound of the Zebra doves instantly transports me to Hawaii, like the scent of a perfume brings back memories of an old flame. You linger on your beautiful shots longer than others channels, letting us soak in the views that are the whole reason for the trip. Really a cut above the rest, thank you.
