Your not the only one, seriously why is this PSA in my recommendation. Also am I the only who finds this and the original PSA bit unsettling, at least with this version I can be able to watch it but still even with Otamatones it's still rubs me the wrong way. I know this is a PSA probably aimed at kids but this is just one of the strangest and unintentionally unsettling PSA I have ever seen. Also I think the reason I think this is unsettling could be the fact that the pills have a high pitch voice that sort of rubs me the wrong way.

I think the uncanniness of the original commercial had an effect where it fascinated me and simultaneously scared me a bit (there’s definitely a term for this and I can’t remember it.) This cover you’ve done, however, brought me such profound joy. I’m really glad it exists. 😂

@@bingbing4332 It's definitely not completely creepy, but it's just a little bit reminiscent of analog horror stuff. Also, there are slightly unusual choices by the people who made the video (especially the words "SERIOUS!", "DELIRIOUS!", "FEAR OF US!", and "DANGEROUS!" appearing at the top) which create a weird vibe. In general, the cuteness of the characters + the potentially life-or-death message they are conveying is what creates the uncanniness. If this video was part of an ARG or something similar, it might indicate that there was actually a child who died after mistaking pills from a fallen bottle for candy. Maybe they became a ghost, or whatever supernatural creature was in the ARG somehow got involved, leading to the creation of this (cursed) video.

I research a lot of older children’s media, and while I definitely don’t *dislike* this (far from the worst thing I’ve ever seen for sure!), the vibe gives me just a little bit of heebie-jeebies. Especially this specific version of the commercial, as opposed to the higher quality version that’s also out there. I could absolutely believe that this came out of something like The Walten Files, or any of those other analogue horror ARGs that play on this exact kind of late 70s/mid 80s-era television.
