Same! I happened upon their Binding Coils video in early 2022 while waiting to be picked up after PT, and their energy just infected me. At the start I was only watching for XIV content, but it got to where I enjoyed Garrett and Kyle's interplay no matter what they were doing.

When my son was born, that's exactly how we played any single player video games--taking turns with the controller. :) (Or, I would sit next to him and watch him play alone). For Christmas, I got him a CRT TV and we pulled out the Super NES and our old saves were still there--nearly 30 years later. It was absolutely fantastic. Video games were just our thing when he was little and neither of us ever stopped playing. He's all grown up and a WoW player now, but he is the one who introduced me to FFXIV (it's my first MMO and I absolutely love it. Watching you two play actually makes me so nostalgic for the days my son would play and I watched.

Of the "WoW exodus" streamers, you all are the ones I've stuck by the most because it's really enjoyable having duo streams and you're both super engaging. I'm excited for you all to have this new studio space to try new things out. In terms of narrative games to play, the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series is fantastic for this. For co-op couch fun, the new TMNT Shredder's Revenge beat-em-up is one of the most fun games I've played in the last 2 years. Whatever you all decide though, I'll be sticking around.

I highly recommend Outer Wilds and DLC for its narrative/worldbuilding - In person would be best because it is a 1 player experience. If you speed it, you can probably only take 2-3 streams, but you can get sidetracked easily, so it might take more. It's just a very impactful narrative.

I have a lot of boxes for just one person, and I'm still not done. I can't imagine the amount of packing Kyle had to do for multiple people.

I'm genuinely having a hard time thinking of narrative games for you guys to play and dissect together. BUT, there's a TON of co-op stuff I'd love to see you guys give a shot: Elden Ring, Remnant 2, Gunfire Reborn, Deep Rock Galactic, Roboquest, Vermintide, Monster Hunter (it NEEDS a redemption arc!) and I'm sure more that escapes my brain right now. Maybe some challenge runs of stuff? Nuzlockes and things of that nature could be fun as a community thing (Endy's doing one right now and it's great fun).

I'm also pretty stoked that you named some games that I really enjoy that you all seem to enjoy as well. I'd love to see the two of you dissect Control, that's a great world. Equally, when Kyle said "...Satisfactory..." my heart skipped a beat. My hours in that game are obscene. And I can see it working as "our original plans fell through so here's us trying to get coal power working". Of course, Baldur's Gate 3. That could turn into a semi-annual thing if you wanted with the multiple ways it can be played. Anyway, I'm keen to see what you do.

It's actually a smart business decision: streaming XIV content on launch week is usually dead on arrival because a majority of the audience would rather experience it themselves first, which is an oddity in the video game content creation space.

2024, The Year of the Bromance! I am happily looking forward to what you guys get up to. My first Final Fantasy was 10 so I would love to see you play that, but I am super biased. As for other suggestions I really liked your brief stint in Monster Hunter World. So that or Monster Hunter Rise would be cool. (The multiplayer is set up better in Rise btw). You could do a two headed playthrough of story heavy games like Disco Elysium or take turns with puzzle games like The Talos Principle. I could go on recommending games forever so as to not make this post into an essay I'll just end with a rec for a surprisingly fun two player co-op game a friend and I have played the hell out of recently in Roboquest. GG!

You two are the highlights of my week (besides the shenanigans I have with my FC in FF14). Watching your MSQ Theories help me appreciate more of the story and re-think things I did not before when I did my playthrough. Thank you for giving me a reason to data center jump over from Aether to stand in the crowd as my purple bun boy Fluxtail and when I'm lucky, do random leveling dungeons on stream with you. Oh and a ps, I did not get a chance to mention during your spring cleaning stream. A couple of patches ago, they gave us the ability to store mogstation items in the armour over the glamor dresser. May be worth it to move over anything you were gifted/bought to there to get more glamour items for more fun glams.

Just a heads up on the thing that's bugged me in your streams lol, i saw recently that SE really doesn't like stream snipers at key lore areas (All those people hanging out trying to get on cam in Elpis for example), With how big your stream is now theres a good chance SE will have someone taking notice and banning people who stream snipe. Yep its a bannable offence. Theres some key moments coming up where you REALLY dont want to be greeted by a massive group of people but i doubt these people will have enough respect to give you your space to enjoy it, so maybe remind them that they can and theres a good chance will be banned. There are certain spots where its ok (normally right before dungeons or trials or the end of a zone where appropriate), During Preach's playthrough the players turned up at the safe moments and let him enjoy the playthrough, Its highly recommended you have your mods remind people to stay away outside of these locations if they value their accounts more than 2 seconds on stream without their name visible lol. I hate to be the fun police here, but i know what's to come as do all the stream snipers. You guys deserve to enjoy it in its full effect like he rest of us got to. Landing on the moon IRL wouldn't feel as monumental if you stepped out of the lander to find 100 people cheering, dressed as Aliens and roleplaying Infront of the live stream camera.

A fun fact, GK in FF11 terms meant Genkai, colloquially used to refer to the quests to raise the level cap of a character. GK1 might be the first level limit increase in your broship. If you needed this to become in lore like parties in FF14 after shadowbringers.

For games with a deep and extensive narrative, Nier:Automata would be perfect. It might not look like it, but the narrative is quite... heavy. And you can cheer each other up during playing it, which might be a big plus. 😨 Besides that: Legend of Heroes series, 13 Sentinels (looks very stereotypical japan, but it's story is fantastic!), Yakuza/Like a Dragon series, Persona 4/5

FF7 is the game that got me into gaming. Before and around it's release, I liked games just fine, but if anything came up, I'd do something else instead. After FF7? RPGs had me. I was done. It's still one of my favorite games ever, likely a good deal because of it's influence, and even though it can be dated I like to think it still holds up. Also, after you get through FF7, then lean about Crisis Core and get the whole of the story and play FF7 Remake and see the utterly WILD story elements going on, I think Garrett in particular will love it. The sheer amount of theory crafting going on with the new 'remakes' are just wild.

Black book, a sort of deck building rpg where you're a witch. Blacktail is a sort of fps rpg where you are a girl, yaga trying to find your lost sister and friends while a scary witch is around. Both are slavic witch stories. Maybe endless dungeon for co op, which is a twin stick shooter style rouge like.

i think Kyle would really enjoy Project Moon's Library of Ruina, which is a narrative driven deck builder card battler. :) there is a prequel, but it's not necessary to play beyond a wiki skim or lore summary video. thank you for an awesome 2023, Grinding Gear!! looking forward to 2024 following you both :)

I think Preach recommended "It Takes Two" as a co-op game for you to try out. That or "Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons" would be my initial recommendations if you want a co-op game with a healthy dose of emotional weight. On a completely unrelated side note, I will once again recommend giving ARR extremes a try in FFXIV. Give Shiva a chance; Kyle's even done homework by accidentally studying the fight before going into the normal version! xP
