It's so great to see Dan safe and warm and back, albeit just for a visit, at Lalande. I wholeheartedly agree with an earlier comment that it's tough and very dangerous for Dan to be climbing icy ladders and working on the giddying upper levels with floors and beams that are even more dangerous because they're covered in snow. So yes, great to see him here with 'us'. And I love seeing how happy he and Cat are. Plus, I think it's wonderful how genuinely happy Stephanie is for Dan with his success and the hilarious rapport they have re who's got more views vs more subscribers - or both! And that's why I'll continue to start my day with watching BOTH!

Can’t believe we were at LaLande a year ago. Having tea with Stephanie Phillip and Amoury after dropping off some gumboots we bought for a Venice trip that we thought LaLande might use. We had a lovely morning. Everyone was so friendly. They are all amazing people. Just as kind and welcoming as they are on the vlogs. For me it was the highlight of our trip to France.

Check a dry cleaner in your area for drapery hangers that can be purchased. Then the curtains can be hung on a closet rod. If too heavy, use two hangers evenly taking the weight. Anmury would be able to make something so the curtains do not drape on the floor. You would be able to clearly see what you have, rather than a pile over a banister rail. In Ontario, Canada the hangers are a thick sturdy wire and quite wide, with a cardboard tube that stops the drapes getting a crease. I hope this helps. I have loved watching the channel since it started. V

Every time I see Dan climbing up scaffolding and leaning out over edges of things I wish he was hooked to a harness, especially when he's there on his own. He's a precious commodity and needs to be protected. I know it's a pain in the butt but I'd rather he survived this project. Marie looks just radiant with joy and happiness. So glad her life is back on track and she is doing so well. She went through some very rough times after leaving Lalande. Glad to know she will have a paid position as cook at Lalande in the coming B & B guest season. Good decision Steph & Marie. In the early days, Steph and Marie were super close and bonded and I enjoyed watching some of their getaways, one of them at a Tree House and I think it had a hot tub. They seemed like super close friends way back then.

He has had me on the edge of my seat when climbing the scaffolding that was quite wobbly, not wearing any safety harness. Then the new scaffolding arrived and Dan was a lot safer. Do you actually need anything covering the space above the windows? Hanging all the curtains from near the ceiling (i.e. the height of the tallest window) would give plenty of illusion without sacrificing light. I don't think anyone reasonable could complain about there being a bit of extra wall at the top under where the curtains meet. But what happens if you don't receive items you were supposed to get in an auction? Do they refund you? Find the missing items? Etc.? Just curious.

Have you ever considered moving the settee on a diagonal at the corner by the window with the floor lamp behind it and the round dining table in front of the settee with 2 of the matching chairs? It would open up the room, still sit 4 for dining and then place an upholstered bench or chaise at the foot of the bed for placing linens and pillows when the bed is turned down or of course be used for sitting and putting on one’s 👠 shoes, read etc. depending on if a chaise or bench is selected. Noting the footboard is low on the bed an upholstered tufted bench would most likely be most appropriate. I just thought having the table and 4 chairs at the end of the bed ate up so much space and sitting by the window with a cup of tea and a book sitting on the settee at a dining table would be dreamy!! 😊

I remember a video quite awhile back where they arranged this room and I remember the table was put there for a reason I think but can't remember why? Maybe because of where the lights were? Maybe if you dig back you can find it?

And in a recent video, she was there at Dan's chateau serving hot coffee to Dan and Nick. And helped pull up tiles early on in the renovation. Someone in the comments said they had been involved for over a year. Yes, it certainly does seem like they are a couple, but are probably trying to be low key about it for the sake of his kids and ex-partner Analise.

I think they will eventually let the "Kat" out of the bag. I suspect they have been "seeing" each other for some time. In one of Dan's vlog's I saw her come round the corner of his chateau and then run back to hide.@@LynnaeaEmber

I think it's been together for a while..They were with Stephanie in Paris for last week..Dan's yurt vlog showed much nicer things than a man alone would have..I don't think it's a secret anymore.Dan and his ex have been apart for quite a while now but still co-parent..Anyone know if she's found someone yet?

Stephanie, A very experienced interior designer on KZbin gave a video session on differing window height room issues Solution Start all curtains at top of wall as high as possible for all windows in the same room. This provides balance to room. Hides different window size.

That wouldn’t solve the problem of the wall above the smaller windows showing when curtains are open thus the need for blinds to hide what’s going on above the height of the shortest window.
