We're Racing To The North! | Transport Fever 2 | Race To The North | Episode 1

Hello and welcome Transport Fever 2 series!
Well it's time we start a new series and there's been plenty of requests for this map, so here we are! Race To The North is a map which I've had for many years now and I've been itching to do a series on it, so here we are!
We'll be starting in the year 1850, fumbling around with steam trains, we're going to be starting to shift some freight, as it pays a little bit more than passengers. We'll focus around London as this is a city we really need to start growing early on.

Super excited to see another TPF2 series! To spice things up in the steam era I'd highly reccommend Gr1m's generic british steam locomotives V2 pack, as well as his coaches, if you're ever looking for good stand ins for locos we don't have just yet :)

Your hubs would probably be best located in Reading, Nottingham, Leeds and then Edinburgh with a branch off to Newcastle. That'd optimize routeing and destination location. This is gonna be a great series 🦆👌🏻

I cannot wait to see the future. Some nice Scotrail 170s, 158s, 43s, 320s. And then the AZUMAs running London to Edinburgh and Aberdeen and some gems of trains. So exciting, how long do you think this’ll take?

You're going to need a lot of planes for this area there's a lot of long-distance places between each other are you going to have enough rail in enough money to pay for those rails

For the Scotland hub, you could place it around where grangemouth is between Stirling and Edinburgh. I know there wont be ships but it is Scotlands largest container terminal port and has many huge distribution centres.

I have chosen just south of Reading, Stafford area, between Glasgow and Edinburgh, Leeds for my hubs on this map. Works quite well. Plenty of north south freight going on but my fave is Southampton to Newcastle via RDG & BHM XC voyager that I have

Given your outrage, you could use the northern hub to fill in for Doncaster. Maybe even move your depot up there to represent the Works/BREL.
