In Germany they actually teach you how to learn but they don't always make it so obvious. For example, having to memorize a poetry by reading it out loud was an obvious learning tool. Having to write a lot of things down by hand was not an obvious learning tool (usually felt more like a punishment). We also had to make a lot of presentation with a poster that sums up the whole presentation (which is a visualisation learning tool). The least obvious learning tool for me was listening to what the teacher talked about. Only in 8th grade they finally talked about those things being learning tools and us having to find out which of those tools are the best for us personally. I personally learned the best by writing something down by hand and visualizing (but I was to lazy to make posters lol), reading out loud was okay but listening was the worst for me (unless it was something I was really interested in). A friend of mine was regarded a lazy genius because he never learned but got good grades because he was insanly good in listening. His problem was that our teachers didn't talk about everything in class and he had to do something at home as well if he wanted to get the best grades. I figured out that the absolute best way for me to learn is by trying to find out how learning this new topic could somewhat excite me because whenever I'm excited about something I'm getting insanely good really fast. A good example is the english language. I was extremely bad in it until 9th grade because I was not interested in the language at all. I had the mindset that I will never need to use the language out of school so me learning it is going to be useless. In 9th grade my brother showed me a game that didn't have a German translation so I had to learn English to proberly understand the game. Within 1 year I was amongst the best students in English class. I still lack some fundamentals though (like knowing when to use simple present, present past etc.), I basically just use my gut feeling for it and I was mostly right, which baffled my teachers lol.

Scarra is so real about learning to learn. It’s probably one of the most difficult skills to acquire. And I agree so hard that schools NEED to teach how to learn cuz it would make everyone’s lives so much easier.

Used to eat at a place called burger legend but they moved further away. Reason why it was so good was that their burgers were huge in comparison to other premium burger joints. idk if anyone read this but my recommendation this week are - tsumiki ogami & the strange everyday life, about a boy who goes to highschool to find himself (like silver spoon) and his classmate are not human, tsumiki is a werewolf girl and it's basically a manga about his growth with her (like silver spoon) - red cat ramen, about a group of cat who sell ramen and their daily life experience - a gamer living with a cat, a relatable manga experience about office worker lady who suddenly adopt a cat and the OL is actually a gamer so her gaming time is now kinda get interrupted with her new cat - solo farming in the tower, a classic tower manhwa about a man who suddenly get sucked to the highest floor and try to survive with fruit & vegetable he bring to the tower and tried to cultivate the seed, there's also a cute cat and a cute rabbit - an animal hospital in the border area, a manhwa about veterinarian that can see ghost or mythical being because of circumstance and now she tried her best to adapt her new life

Manhwa rec: Surviving the Game as a Barbarian - guy gets isekai'd into a hardcore game. The skill/power system is cool. Guy uses his knowledge of the game to get stronger, but also has to avoid accusations of being possessed of an 'evil spirit'. People with an evil spirit talk about the world being a game and other devilish concepts worthy of death. So MC needs to stay alive, get stronger and eventually figure out how to gtfo.

@peterparktv dude your nostalgia food places are spot on I grew up eating Yoshinoya and Arby’s! Know it’s bad but will still eat it if I can find one. I grew up in rowland heights and the Yoshinoya was always packed and popular and your right open late! there was also an Arby’s and the 3 or 4 beef and cheddars for 5 bucks is was the best value for people with not a lot of money. and yes the Yoshinoya in Japan with an egg yolk is sooooo good

Another manhwa I'd like to recommend is Evolving Into a Space Monster. It's an scifi/horror isekai where a player gets transported jnyo a scifi game as a xenomorph like alien. It's really fun with a villain MC and is a scifi horror from the perspective of the monster.

Korean ticket sales sounds bad but from what I've heard about event ticketing in Japan, a lot of the time it's a lottery system to keep numbers in line: not first in best dressed, just a bunch of people apply and only a certain number actually get tickets. And it extends to stuff like Pokémon worlds and even certain merch, sounds miserable :D EDIT: Also on the topic of MTG, it's true that they're releasing way more stuff every year but as a player it feels like they're just going wider. It used to be that mtg players all cared about every release, now there are so many releases but each player knows which ones apply to them kinda. So I wouldn't say they're "milking the players" necessarily but they are enticing lot's of different players to spend in the way they want to.
