The sheep that had been attacked by the dog is looking so much better. Still a ways to go. I didn't think it would survive when you first found her.

Hi Cammy, never think we are uninterested in any of your videos, please! You are sharing the daily ins and outs of your work and business and I think it's wonderful to see all of it. Glad that the weather was decent to get these sheep through the sorting/vaxxing process and I hope, like others have mentioned, that you will be able to get a few more hours of rest in your schedule soon, if even to try to keep up with Jock! 😄 Take care and stay safe.

Maybe try a row/stitch counter that people use when knitting or crocheting. It's a small device that you click to change the count. They also use something similar at events to count people entering the venues.

Also in Cumbria we have a special sheep counting system, I think it survives in some bordering counties as well. But you count in 20s, using spesific words for the numbers, so one, two, three is yan, tan, tethra. It's a fascinating linguistic quirk that's stayed the same becuase it's about counting sheep, which folk have been doing since ever.

Don’t doubt yourself, Cammy, it’s never a bad vlog when there’s quite a bit of info in it! I never knew how you calculate how many sheep can winter on a piece of grass (or if you’ve said it before, I had forgotten). The short info about not giving copper to the (Texel) rams at the end was also really helpful, although I wouldn’t mind some more explanation about that in another video when you have more time 😉

Oh Cami - you and Lizzy are a quality couple. I hope you will take the time to care for each other and your little boys. I have a dairy farming background here in Minnesota so I know what it takes to keep going and working. If nothing else happened on the very busy days - at least my Mother got a kiss and a thank-you from my Dad after supper in the kitchen before he went back to the barn to milk. He did that every night for years and years. When you pushed yourself to save Fiona despite your fears - it was a beautiful event to watch. I'm so happy for everyone and for Fiona. She is a remarkable animal. Such an example of quiet waiting - she was just making sure she took care of herself and then she relaxed and let your group take care of her. I hope the animal rights people relax and not bother the farmer who is taking care of her now. If you get a chance Cami could you make a report about how Fiona is doing.... in a few months. It just would be fun to hear about her. Thank-you so much for what you and Lizzy are doing there in Scotland. Stay safe. Stay well. Don't forget the kiss in the kitchen.

Love watching you sheep farmers, no matter what kind of farm you have, started watching your KZbin channel indirectly via Sandi Brock, guess the KZbin gods figure if I liked sheep then I must like dairy cattle (which I do as my province in Canada wellI guess all of the Maritime provinces are big into dairy industry) well they decided I would like Graeme the hoof GP, which yes that is interesting then he, Graeme was pushing your channel, then somehow again the KZbin gods referred me on to this young Irish fellow, an Irish sheep farmer whose sister was wearing your merchandise lol he razzed her for that 😉🤣 he seems to be a fan of yours. Now I have become hooked on Tara Farms also. Think her ( don’t know her name yet), father owns the farm and they have sheep, many sheep oh this girl is quite the character, she seems to do mostly sheep and her brother Liam is also working the farm, plus they grow grains as well like Sandi’s hubby. Haven’t got it all figured out yet. Their sheep are mostly outside unlike Sandi’s. Believe they are Australian. Love the accent. Sandi referred us to Tara Farms. The girl just says it like it is - then as she was treating a few of her sheep for Fly Strike/Fly Blown she asks if this is just an issue where she lives or is this a problem in the UK and Canada as well. OMG she is funny and I think some of her viewers are a bit naive so she counters with sarcasm. Of course right now Australia New Zealand are starting into their summer season.

Thanks for also making the time to bring us videos. Your videos are never boring and I always gain some education from each one. Thank you Cammy, you’re very appreciated. ❤❤

And I gotta ask...whats with the ladder tied to the TePari, and what do you do with empty crystalyx tubs? They make great planters for tomatoes or squash....

We may be seeing videos on a bit of delay. Also, there might be a really good reason for putting tups in later - probably so that all the different flocks don’t lamb at the same time, so there’s room in the lambing shed….as well as planning out the approximate time for lambs to go to market.

I honestly don’t know the answer. I just not that some white faced / continental breeds are more susceptible to copper poisoning.
@patpierce4854 Жыл бұрын
I do know that different breeds are sensitive to different minerals. One example of this is with the seaweed eating sheep further north on the islands. Thankfully that information is readily available with a wee bit of research, so the farmer can appropriately care for stock.
