During his streams he talked a lot about how he was excited for playoffs and how he couldn't wait to go to worlds. He streamed in his free time that he would have spent on playing soloq anyway. He only played champions that he considered viable on stage and when people asked him to play unpopular champion he refused to pick them because that was "a waste of practice" in his opinion. Now he is obviously devastated that G2 didn't make it and you're saying things like this.

You gotta comment on Jankos stepping up. When Rekkles joined the roster, Jankos said he thinks that G2 needs a new ingame lead and he will try his best to fill that role, even though it is not how he naturally behaves on the rift. This clip shows that he was the one trying to get everyone to focus, he was the one giving the calls, he stepped up big time for his team. All the love to the first blood king!

Also he's been the best performing player on the team by far. If they keep the same roster I think all of them have to take more responsibility and not just let Jankos have all the pressure on keeping everyone focused, he's trying so hard. Perkz was such a natural leader and so vocal in the team so it must been so strange to not have him there, it seemed to have shaken up the team overall.

You can tell by the way he talks even in game 1, his mental is in the dirt. Like yeah he tries to keep everyone focused and to not throw, but he doesnt do so confidently. Unfortunately this exact thing is what Perkz was best at. Reckless is a great player, but he just isnt 1v9 capable (not that many/any adcs are). I'd love to see him succeed but G2 cant just coast through the season relying on their mechanical skill any more.

Man, you can feel the pain in Rekkles' silence during the end of game 5. He knew from the start how mentally strong FNC was, how scary they can be, the people he laughed and cried with for 8 years came back for him to deny him Worlds. Not going to Worlds is one thing but not going because your former team eliminates you... It must be haunting. I'm a FNC fan but I feel so bad for Rekkles, hope he can make it next year and show everyone again that he is one of the best ADCs Europe has ever produced.

I’m so incredibly sad as a G2 fan 🥺😭 I mean this season we just have to accept that the other teams were better. In this 5 game series FNC just was better. I love everyone on the roster, there was so much potential but we just couldn’t deliver. There is no way around it: This season was disaster. No MSI and no worlds. No team can win every title but this year was particularly hard as a fan but I’m pretty sure as a player as well. I’d like to thank everyone working at G2 and the players: Wunder, Jankos, Caps, Rekkles and Miky. You guys made it incredible satisfying being a G2 fan. To root for you, cheer you on and seeing all your smiles and fooling around makes me proud and happy to be a fan of this team. Thank you. We now just have to accept this season, learn from it and move on. I will always be a G2 fan and therefore I hope the guys can have a nice holiday and they won’t beat themselves up to an unhealthy point. Take a breath, and let’s come back again next year! I don't want to see new main players of G2, but rather hoping for the current players improvement and maybe coaching staff adept in helping the players improve in lane and drafts that work in the meta instead of comfort picks, after all this is not Solo Queue.

That fist thing and the support before every match "We're a team" is something new, maybe something related to subjacent problem that they worked during that week. It's sad that the team didn't succeed, but that is part of the profession, you can't always win, and if you do it's just a way to push other teams to work harder to beat you, and that happened during the last couple of years. I just hope all of them are ok, it's difficult to be the first and only for a long time and then rebuild yourself to defeat those whom were shaped by your victories. We as fans just could support the team through this new journey, that could take a lot of time or just a couple of seasons. Lots of love G2 ❤

Loosing Perkz was sad, but because of that i started to watch the LCS ;p and Rekkles was always the legend to me, few years ago i used to main adc just because of Martin. Reckless sounded defeated after game 1, a game that they WON. He didnt speak with confidence, he spoke with worry and doubt. He seemed more like he was trying to convince himself than anything. Just listen to the difference in how Jankos spoke, and Rekkless. Unfortunately he is not a leader, but that is okay. You dont have to be a leader to be a great player.

@@lafaucheuse2001 Jankos literally performed best this season for G2, literally everone including caedral and the other casters and analysts acknowledge that, he has had a wonderful split, unfortunately wunder kinda didn't play that well and caps was very bad before balds , Maybe in a world where g2 faced rogue instead of mad would have qualified for worlds

A lot of (well deserved) love for Jankos, but don't forget the other guys. Caps really stepped up after thet 5 game losing streak, Miky had some absolutely golden moments, especially with Rakan in this series, Rekkles was absolutely steadfast on this roster. I dodn't think he had more than one "bad" game, and Wunder... well he had a bad split, but he has potential, and he had some incredible moments too. That outplay on Adam in the Camille-Darius matchup was incredible.

The people saying Rekkless is too serious or only acknowledging Jankos as a leader for keeping the team together is tragic. Rekkless literally kept the team focused on what needed to be done. You need someone like that on the team at all times no matter what. Don't talk about how you shouldn't blame someone on G2 and then call Rekkless boring and claim he doesn't fit in to G2. The hypocrisy is so cringe.

Honestly, and I do not want for this to be perceived as hate towards G2, but these comms genuinely surprise me. Morale is good, and it's important to enjoy your games, but this is a literal decider matchup on whether you're going to worlds or not, and the only person here that seemed to really be focusing on it, and trying to keep the team grounded, was Rekkles. Jankos tried to boost morale which is fine but if this is genuinely the kind of communications going on during such important matches, then I'm not at all surprised that G2 fell to more focused and goal-oriented teams. Looks like a split or two of beat-down is needed for some players to get off their high-horses and realize that they are no longer the best.
