I care. I've been an avid Matt and Kim listener since I heard the song Daylight over a decade ago. It's been my ringtone almost as long. I first heard "Daylight" when I was 16 in high school, well over a decade ago. This was back when I hadn't really discovered my music taste and followed my family's likes. Up until then I thought I just didn't like music- then I heard you two. You showed me that there wasn't anything wrong with me, and opened me up to a whole new world of music. From there I relied on google to show me "bands like Matt & Kim". I've been to your concerts, and holy hell, there's nothing like them. Thank you so, so much for being your best selves, I want you to know how impactful you've been in my life. I can't wait for another show, i will always remember my first show. First concert ever, drove by myself to LA. 18 year old, met a couple of cool girls from Sweden who took me under their wing and their first words when they found out that was my first concert they said "oh I'm so sorry.....You will be ruined, nothing else will ever compare." So true...having Kim twerk while i held her shoes, catching a drum stick, inviting new friends to every show. I wouldn't trade those memories for anything in the world. Just wanna say that while there's a lot of people down here talking about your music, I think that you guys really helped me through a dark time in my life through your videos about 5 years ago. I'd just started community college where I felt alone and isolated from peers, I had just lost a job that I really loved, and then I discovered some of your vlog videos. I'd known about your music from FIFA soundtracks and enjoyed it, but those videos were just so full of joy and fun that it kept my mood up as I trudged forward into the future. I'd like to say that I'm a totally more successful person and love life now, but that'd just be lying. But I felt a whole lot better when I saw those vlogs of you two just going someplace weird and hanging out. Y'all seem like really great people and I wish you both the best in both music and your other art. Maybe not "my favorite band", but you definitely changed my life in a positive way more than any other band. I hope to hear more music from you. I am elated!!!! I am very sorry to hear about your feelings and being afraid. It has to be so powerful for you to get that off of your shoulders and say it out loud. That to me is the hardest part of all in admitting that you feel afraid but I am so proud and happy to hear that you are braving through it. Everyone feels like that from time to time but the successful ones are the ones that persevere and I am confident you will do the same. But I had a feeling it probably had something to do with your mental health, and if getting away from social media toxicity is what you have to do, then please do that, and I'm glad you took a break. Please don't interpret fewer plays on those solo-released songs as a drop in interest/care from your fans. As an older fan, I tend to favor albums/downloads over streaming services, and I fear that fans like me don't contribute to the numbers that matter in today's music market, but please believe me; we're here. Seeing you guys at the Waiting Room in Omaha in May 2010 was the best live show I've ever seen. We were jumping like crazy the whole time! Just discovered this post. I’ve been listening to you since my friend introduced me to you in 2010. Your music has helped me through the darkest times in my life. I’ve been to several shows and even got to meet you both in Columbus Ohio in 2019. You guys sent me a Christmas card in 2016 and I received it the day after I broke up with my long term boyfriend.
