How can this man write so many out-of-this-world-beautifully songs ? Like a miracle. Wish Bonnie Tyler would release an album with all this unreleased Jim Steinman-pearls.
@moomin967 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I've always thought Bonnie was way better than Meat Loaf. Jim should have written more songs for her. She's still in good shape I think, so it would actually not be that bad of an idea.
@spiraljoe12738 жыл бұрын
Lyrically this is musical-perfect. Pure perfection. Jim deserves awards for this one. It should be recorded by Meat Loaf.....would be a brilliant marriage of singer ang song.

I always imagined this as the final track on a Steinman written, produced and arranged Bat out of Hell III album - sadly it was not to be. Steinman wrote some amazing stuff for the Batman musical, I don't think any of it has seen the light of day (except for the demos). What a terrible shame. This track is best listened to in the kind of complete darkness only the middle of the night can bring.

Why doesn't Jim Steinman release music all on his own; write, produce, sing. He doesn't need musicals, or other singers. This song is beautiful just as it is, all on it's own.
@Kowasi7 жыл бұрын
King Rick He tried it in 1981 with the Bad for Good album… then in 1987 with the Pandora's Box album, albeit with four female singers instead of himself. Then, unless I'm mistaken, he has a live outfit called the Dream Engine… perhaps it's fair to say that the influence of the first Bat Out of Hell album is so great that many are only interested when Meat Loaf is also on board. With Meat's apparent retirement, I imagine Jim has a lot riding on the Bat Out of Hell musical…

Strange, the lyrics sound like they belong with Neverland. Sure wish his musicals would get produced. People just have never been ready for Steinman. Would love to see Tanz der Vampire done right, his way this time, as a movie. His writing is so much like Paul O' Neil, TSO, another incredible composer.

Would have been the perfect ending to the new album....man...this and "Tonight is what it means to be young" are the two steinman songs I wish Meat had performed at some point...
@odrilliad8 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I too was really hoping this song would be on Braver Than We Are, a perfect album closer (or career closer), and Meat's now lacking voice might have actually added more pathos to the lyrics. Pity! But maybe there's another home for it. Jim Steinman's Bat out of Hell: The Musical - Manchester, Feb 2017.

@@odrilliad You Know I am surprised to figure out whatever happened to the Unproduced Batman Musical though I haven't heard songs like these in such a long time then again if I did some recordings of songs like these I would be honoured to play Batman in a musical and I hope that in future Batman the musical will get back on it's feet and I pray that Batman will get the musical theatre treatment that Broadway and the West End Deserves so that Warner Bros Discovery can revisit something like this for musical theatre in future

First up amazing song and although I know a more rounded voice could sing this better I love how u can really feel the emotion in Jims's voice. Main reason for my comment is I just have to say how amazing that picture is at 3:15. It really sums up the life of batman. So dark and strong yet all he really longs for it light and love. Amazing symbolism!

I hope and pray that Jim & Meat Loaf's new album has all the Count K songs from Tanz Der Vampire, Batman, and Cry Baby. If Meat was picked instead of Michael the US Dance of the Vampires would have been amazing because Jim & Meat wouldn't have let it turn into a train wreck.

My guess is that Jim will probably use this song for the Bat out of Hell musical that will hopefully hit the West End in 2010 or 2011, but I won't hold my breath. I actually think it would fit better there then the Batman stage show it was composed for. However, I have heard rumours that Jim' might be working with Bonnie Tyler again, but I don't think this is a song for her. As for Meat I think BOOH III has put end to his and Jim's working relationship.

Idk... Maybe Wolverine? Blade? Deadpool? Spiderman's life is pretty messed up.... Ghost Rider? Dr. Strange? Spiderwoman? Punisher? Etrigan? Probably Daredevil. Yeah now that I think about it there are A LOT of heroes that are pretty messed up in the head. And a lot that have to deal with eternal struggles like Batman.
