From Australia so all new to me, what engine does it run?
@TheMotorsportMechanic Жыл бұрын
It runs a Gibson 4.2 litre v8
@F1Warrior Жыл бұрын
do these LMP2 cars still use the nissan VK series V8 engine?
@tacklefatkids Жыл бұрын
No unfortunately not it seems LMP2 teams have moved onto a spec engine with Gibson being the makers. Sounds awesome in person.
@homelessbaby2768 Жыл бұрын
Why and what do you blur on the back of the car? im ignorant on LMP2 cars
@TheMotorsportMechanic Жыл бұрын
Its the suspension part's the dampers, Springs, Rollbar and third element. I cant show them as it would show the setup we are using for that track.

Do you service and rebuild the car like this after every race or after x amount of races ? (Without taking an unfortunate crash into account)
@TheMotorsportMechanic Жыл бұрын
Yes pretty much everytime the car comes back to the workshop it's gets stripped down like that. All the parts have a life on milage, so the wheel bearings don't get changed every time but most of the other jobs do.

Are you in the UK or europe. I am a mechanical engineer in France with experience in hill climbs and rally cars. Would you mind me asking you some job related questions? What race series are you involved in? What previous experience/education should I have? And as I said before if you are in the UK or Europe!
@TheMotorsportMechanic Жыл бұрын
These last few videos are from the Asian LeMans series and the European LeMans series. Any experience in motorsport is good just from club level and work up to higher levels as you gain experience
@racingonboards Жыл бұрын
is this your full time job? I would have thought that just 1 car would not keep you busy enough in the months between races?
@TheMotorsportMechanic Жыл бұрын
No I'm a self employed contractor like most of the people in the team. But Nielsen racing is the majority of my work.
@racingonboards Жыл бұрын
@@TheMotorsportMechanic so what does that mean you are doing most of the time for work
@TheMotorsportMechanic Жыл бұрын
With Nielsen there is probably a week or 2 in the workshop after every round. Then if we do testing that adds more workshop work so there is a lot of work there but I also work in Extreme E and Nitro rallycross at the moment.
