Hey bud, I’m a General Contractor. Drill two 1/4” holes at the bottom of each block, one for each cavity space. That block is saturated with water back there so the only to get rid of the water is draining them. Believe me when i say cinder blocks hold a LOT of water.

I’m a roofer and we use knee pads religiously. So much so everytime I do anything working on the floor I can’t go without. If u don’t using them soon you’re going to regret it bro. And especially if u keep doing it without pants. You’re going to end up with elephant or rhino skin knees. Jus tryin to look out for u in the long run. Keep up the fire content 🫡

Make sure you oil the head spring on your overhead doors. They are meant to move and the paint will lock them up and they will crack and explode into pieces.

I’m a Garage Door Tech. It will not explode into pieces and usually breaks in half. What the paint does it interferes with the smoothness up & down and to fix that is lubricating the spring with a Garage Door Lube from Lowes or Home Depot. I’ll definitely hit all the hinges and rollers with some lubricant and the inner tracks.

@wethepeople7629 those springs were rusty. I have seen the springs Crack and pieces go flying. Just because you haven't experienced it, doesn't mean it doesn't happen. It's not common, but it does happen. PS. I was an overhead door and operater installer for years.

100% recommend clearing that loft space and just utilizing it for storage or temporary storage for over-sized parts. Things like hoods, for example. Having a place to keep them out of the way and safe is certainly invaluable.

The problem with your block wall is efflorescence, where moisture is seeping through the block and leaving a mineral salt coating. The only way to solve it is to find where the moisture is coming from, stop it, and then dry and seal the outside of the block.

Looks fantastic ! I remember you said that your office is cold. If you install a few or all the supply air register on the end of they spiarl duct in the shop, you'll get more air pressure down to the office. Supply registers are fairly cheap at Home Depot or Lowes. It looks like you have 8 or 10 inch supply ducts.
