Is that a 67 one of the 3 favorite years I like the 66 67 and 68 last year of the swing axle can wait to get rid of my 86 mini truck to get another vw hope by the end of next year going to go with a different approach from my 64 vw I just got rid of to pay a large loan off it was sad for me

Those metal brackets might be the chrome piece for the steps. They go on the back fender. Might be totally wrong though:)

Glad you got it but, I have to say to call it a rescue is a stretch. It wasn't sitting in a field with a million pine cones in it. It was sitting in a dry, modern garage. A garage attached to someone's house. Unless they were beating and whipping the Beatle everyday, I wouldn't call it a rescue. 😉
