You two are right on the money. The area you are in was basically open, unincorporated land in '61. The cinderblock shed leads to an "antichamber" which then leads to a large hallway. There are "environmentally sealable" doors that lead into the main chamber. My grandfather George Bearson, was part of the construction crew that helped build the shelter. He told me stories of how they would bring in the crews in a van that had no windows and was basically a box with an overhead light and a single door at the rear to get in and out. He told me that they never even saw who the drivers were. They were also paid in cash, which allowed those who were funding the project to remain anonymous. He said it was the strangest job he ever worked. Interesting, to say the least.

@@skylinn As a matter of fact, he possessed a set of what were then blueprints of what he said were "alternate plans". I guess they were part of a set of 4 different types of contingency plans in case that the original was unbuildable for whatever reason. He also once said that they could also have been "dummy" plans to maintain the deniability of the shelters existence. The sad part of the whole thing is that my Grandfather George passed away in 1972 in a car accident and I never saw them again. He spoke often of the secrecy of the project. My memory of those conversations and of my Granddad are still vivid after all these years, but 49 years is a long time ago.

i think you guys nailed the location,if you use a Lidar map of Mt Dora , that mound behind the house with the shed is the only anomaly in the entire city, its completely obvious that there is a giant structure under the ground.

I've lived in Eustis since 1997 and just learned about the Catacombs maybe a year ago. I am so fascinated by this!! I am only about 2 miles from the place you visit in this episode and I drove by myself to see & you are right!! This absolutely could be the Catacombs! This huge mound of earth is hidden by all the brush but once you notice it, it really stands out as being odd. The "Shed" out back looks like its made of cinder block, why would someone make a small shed out of cinder block? Hmmmmm Thanks for sharing this intriguing video with us. xoxo

My family had a small family graveyard on the property (1888) . It contained my great-great-grandparents ,one of my great uncles and 3 other family members. The graves were moved when the local cemetery was opened but it used to creep my great auntie out that the dirt over the baby's former grave kept sinking down.

What was odd was at 12:26 of the video, there is a white pipe sticking horizontally out of the ground. I wonder what that is for if there is nothing there? Those gargoyles were very cool as well. If you two ever come up to Illinois, you have to check out the Volo Auto Museum and Antique Mall. One of the buildings is actually haunted by a shadow man and they were featured on tv about it years ago.

Sorry guys, but if the catacombs were in this location then they are totally gone now. As Laura HH pointed out in the other video, these orchards and the strange mound have been scraped clean to make way for some kind of development. If the catacombs were located under the mound, then they were either dug out and hauled away or collapsed flat and buried in place. Now all that remains is acres of flat depression and fill dirt. There is earth moving equipment scattered across the site and they have begun burying plumbing and sewer pipes.

Hey ya’ll! Love your video! However, I don’t think you found it. The Catacombs are only 5,000 s.f. while the mound you visited is almost 1 acre (43,560 s.f.). I have been trying to track it down as well over the years and I still am not sure. The biggest clues I have seen are that a croquet court was built on top of it after completion in the 60s and that a small utility shed is the entrance. I have even gone as far as looking into the property records of some of Mt Dora’s elite back then who were said to be involved, but I still can’t find anything concrete (pun intended). Anyways, happy hunting and I hope one of us finds it one day!

Have you Used Lake County Property Appraiser website? The property you're on in this video isn't owned by the same people as the house at 2667. This orange grove is owned by Scott Culp and "Weatherbee Partners" in Winter Park - googling Weatherbee partners brings up various construction companies. This site is now being developed so if the catacombs are there... they'll be dug up completely.

The only way to find out for sure if that really was the bunker/catacombs is to excavate. Take a shovel next time and dig in some of the spots you walked, like on the top and on that side where you were tapping that concrete with your foot. Dig until you hit something solid. That cleared out space on the top is too much of a coincidence. The was that grass was growing, it looked like it grew up through cracks in concrete.

I have a theory: The siding on that shed is either composite or some other kind of paneling. With that mound behind the house, i guarantee someone along the way knew people would look for the entrance and decided to replace the doors and the siding over the cinderblock/ brick to make it more inconspicuous. Everything kinda just looks like its hanging off the shed as if it was done in a hurry, like maybe over the course of a night or maybe a couple hours. You may have found it and not even known it.

Interesting video for sure, a search and find mystery I have to point this out, only because I literally just learned this a couple of days ago, which I never knew. Those gargoyles you mentioned at the antique place.....they are not gargoyles, they are "grotesques" A gargoyle has a water spout, a grotesque (which looks like gargoyles) does not have a water spout. I think you guys were a lot closer in your first video. If you look up the county records and trace current and previous owners you’ll start to connect the dots. The minister, the banker, etc described in the few “facts” we’ve gathered online over the years, will start to connect. The house on Northland, none of those names and ownership date match up to anything. The mound in this video, maybe the dump site of the dirt dug out for the bunker? And the grove owners of the grove you’re currently in I haven’t been able to connect them with the few known “facts”. My theory as I’ve researched it a lot being just a couple miles away and possibly knowing one of the members, I’m almost certain you were standing in front of the house with the shed in your first video.
