I like the content but I have just one tiny criticism for you. I turn it up to hear he draft because it's low and then when you guys comment, it seems very loud. Needs to be better balance with the sound.

3:55 "TMac was an Alpha scorer and a +++++ athlete, Wiggins was none of those things" Guys I don't think you remember what HS and college Wiggins was like. He was every bit the athlete and he was nicknamed Maple Jordan cause he was seen as the heir to Kobe as the next great scoring wing. The physical talent was all there and he had some advanced scoring skills, he just didn't have the mentality or work ethic of those greats that came before him
@austingreen12742 ай бұрын
Yeah he was an interesting case. At the time of the draft he was in that class of elite wing. And then he only barely improved from there. The ‘22 playoffs was clearly an outlier.

@@MDK384 Yea when Embiid went down, he was supposed to step up but he kept drifting behind Brennan Greene and Perry Ellis. Never took number 1 option duties away from Wayne Selden and Frank Mason.

The funniest part about the Bojan/Bogdan thing is that Bojan wouldn't even sign his contract with the Nets for another month 😭so they had his highlight reel on draft night ready to go for whenever he eventually did

Actually, it's a pretty good draft, and idk how i forgot for a moment that this was a mcdermott draft. My dad went to creighton, so i saw him play many times. One of the all time great college players and had a better career then most think he did. Especially when you look at most the guys after him who played 2-3 years didn't do much..

Kawhi was averaging 13 6 2 not a bad comp in the slightest for Gordon coming out of college

I grew up a Bulls fan; I'm no longer really a Bulls fan in any meaningful way because, you know... ownership. This draft was a pretty big nail in that coffin. Punting on winning more championships because the owner and GM wanted more credit and thought they could jettison MJ, Pippen, and Phil and simply build another champion was by far the biggest nail, of course. There were three big ones in total. The third of the big three was the Vucevic trade; I talked myself into it, thinking that while I preferred Wendell Carter Jr to Vucevic - I thought WCJ was a better, more well-rounded player, more of a winning player, an easier player to build a winning starting unit with him in it than Vucevic - the saving grace of Vucevic, I thought, was that Vucevic was actually a pretty good passer. He wasn't just a low-post scorer; that's a very overrated player because that shot is so inefficient, but with Vucevic's underrated passing, he could function with other scorers and not be useless when he isn't scoring. He could even make a young PG's job easier. Then I heard picks were involved, and I wondered if maybe ORL sent us a low 1st that belonged to, like, MIL or something, and I actually would've liked that trade... but I didn't know why ORL would do that. But NOPE. The Bulls somehow sent a 1st rounder to ORL in the deal, which I didn't understand. Although no they didn't, they sent TWO 1st rounders to ORL!!! I lost my fucking mind. This draft was the 2nd; maybe not quite as bad as the 3rd, even - certainly not given that ORL used one of our 1sts to pick Franz Wagner - but it was still pretty goddamn stupid, and frustrating. Because we had two mid- to late- 1st round picks, and I wanted four guys that I expected to be available there. In order: Rodney Hood, Gary Harris, Jusuf Nurkic, and Doug McDermott. I'd've been happy with the two bottom guys (3rd and 4th) over the top guy (1st)... because that's how tiers work. But somehow we ended up *TRADING UP TO GET THE 4TH GUY!* And he ended up being a bench warmer. Hooray. (I honestly still think Hood could've been a useful NBA player, had he gone to the right situation. I could be wrong, but man I liked him coming out of college. And people love to hate on Nurkic now, but I'd argue he's a damn nice center to have... just, you know, don't pay him like a superstar. Nurkic on a rookie deal was - if I remember correctly - a fine player.)
