Hi Martin, thanks for the mention, Stellar Sovereigns is indeed a complex game and its true it is not for new comers to the genre but it was the game I always wanted to play :), which was admittedly not a sound business approach! I learned a lot making my first game so I hope I can put all that to good use on my new project, however I am still dreaming up new features to Stellar Sovereigns, I just cannot help myself! :) Whish you guys the best for your upcoming project!

@@micshazam842 Stellar Sovereigns has in game info for each of its UI broken down to each panel separately that you can access on demand, with highlight pointers to guide your attention as explains the purpose of Its sub-elements. Indeed, the game does not holds your hand in how to play it, rather it gives you as much info as needed to understand its systems, the rest is up to the player in what ever way they want to manage their inter stellar empire. I must admit I find it difficult to create a manual that explains how to play a 4X since there is rarely one right way to go about it. As a 90's kid, playing games to figure out how to do so was part of the experience, I might add back then I didn't even understand English :) The game also has numerous automation options to help manage combat and colony development, which is customizable for individual units and per colony; each option is coming with tooltips breaking down their effects and explains how they work. In essence you are sending out your fleets to explore solar systems, colonize planets, gather resources, fight threats, build more fleets to explore further, expand to new systems, exploit their resources and exterminate all who stands in your way, the rest is all in the game's info panels and UI tooltips.

Martin. Although I still not watched your video (in progress) I already like this roaster video, because I already see you try to help them with advices and with extra visibility. Although they even could be your competitors you are supportive with them. Respect for it!

I think you're too nice to "roast" game devs. Not saying that's a bad thing, just not quite what was promised.

I really liked how he broke down gaming systems and what fits in what case. Not just, oh I liked it, it’s not convenient, but why isn’t it convenient. I see very little of this on KZbin

I think you have nailed the feedback. I found the Steam page analysis especially helpful because I'm currently working on one for my game. If this series continues, I would love to hear your insights on my game once it becomes playable.

Constructive criticism is helpful. Destructive is easy and not. Nice job.

if your next game shows anywhere near the level of improvement your videos are showing it will be a blast

Wow, I found this game very interesting, mainly because I love Stellaris, and I imagine that the creator must have made a better Stellaris with more things that should have, but for the same reason mentioned something made me afraid to play, probably because it doesn't have Portuguese and it's a very complex game, but I agree that it seems to be very difficult to learn, maybe the game should have its interface improved, maybe "hide" certain things more deeply, like putting categories inside other categories, so that it never has too much information but continues to be complex, many Paradox players don't use all the features and still play, I'm one of them, I know I could become a "Pro" player if I use everything the game offers, but being able to play until the end by clicking on just a few things is what motivates me to keep playing 4X

Where can we find the video of Chris doing your steam page teardown?

Unfortunately it's not a public video, it was part of a coaching initiative funded by the Belgian government, and it wasnt just our store page he roasted. -M

For project apocalypse the problem is the same as most triple a games which is that choice does not matter without consequence

Would love to hear feedback for a game that I'm developing. However, I still haven't setup a steam page yet, still learning the process. The demo is currently on itch on a web browser. Thank you

I'm not trying to be negative here, but to me as a game developer it would sound a little bit odd to have my game's steam page criticized by devs that did launch only one game, that performs rather poorly (according to your own after release videos!) and which stated that they don't have a clue about marketing. Just read Chris' blog directly.

There is a such thing as peer reviews. Also the devs submitted their games to be roasted, it’s not like he’s just shitting on some random person’s game.
