@bathtubearth8252Ай бұрын
@@dukedynasty USA is the world's TOP producer of both oil AND natural gas, , accounting for 20% of global fossil fuel production. Cobalt has to do with where it's actually found. Almost 75% of all the cobalt in the entire world comes from DRC, and another 5% from Indonesia. The fact is that we just don't have much here relative to other countries. Also, it's a byproduct of copper. If you've ever drank the water in towns near copper mines in Arizona, you would know that the industry is not good for America. This is a perfect case of drinking the koolaid then acting like you know what you're talking about when you don't.

Killer show. Who would have bet on the snow leopard . My new 100 volt water cooled motor is finally done. Cant wait to see how far my new battery pac goes.
@TravisNoblesАй бұрын
Dude I loved this test. I have the older electric motion, which gets even less range. I was thinking about upgrading to the new one, but honestly I might go for the Arctic leopard. I realize, after having built a few of these Arctic leopards, that their quality is really subpar, but I believe I could address that with some of my own custom mods to the bike... We'll see. At this time, I'm after that maximum range and a bike that feels similar to the electric motion - And in my mind, and having ridden all of these except for the dust moto, I believe that the Arctic leopard EX 800's ergo's are the closest to the EM. I imagine it would do well on hard enduro.

I’m loving my ex 800. At its power I really don’t need anything more and I’m not doing anything wild with mine. Gonna supermoto it gotta source some hubs for it. Or find a compatible swaps for it. I’m close to plating mine. Just figuring out the taillight. Fb group says the wiring harness for it and assembly is coming soon but I don’t want to wait.

At 20%, I'm riding back towards my truck. I've limped back to my truck with less than 5% several times on my stock Ultra Bee with it showing close to 30 miles. But 23 miles sounds about right for true trail riding distance.

@soy_lecheАй бұрын
How did the modded ultrabee go farther? Is the x9000 controller more efficient? Since it's heavier and same battery and motor I found this to be extremely surprising.
@JNacousticАй бұрын
Could be a couple possibilities. Could be that the battery in the stock Ultra bee just simply wasn't as good, could also be that the stock controller reduces or cuts power at a higher battery voltage than the x9000 does.
@ElectricCycleRiderАй бұрын
Our qualification for ending the ride was when the bike lost adequate power, we tried to make it clear in the video that the stock Ultra Bee was reading a higher percentage, but it was going into a limp mode early. The EBMX X-9000 controller was not putting the modded Ultra Bee into limp mode, so we were able to keep riding it at decent pace. The stock Ultra still had a lot of "range" left in the tank but only at a super slow pace.
@soy_lecheАй бұрын
@ thanks for clarification! Do you think it’s safe to say the aftermarket controllers are not more efficient? I’ve been wondering about getting one simply to increase range a bit (and the other benefits).

You have a line on an EX800 with the Tech suspension? Really curious how much of an improvement that will be - or if it'll be better to go with something completely aftermarket.

Sounds like the different controller on the Modded UB gave it more usable range but I wonder what that does to battery life ?
@euc_bbqАй бұрын
X9000 is a vesc based controller, it runs more efficiently by getting constant feedback from the motor through the hall sensors, it considered an FOC style of motor control compared to the traditional sine wave controllers. It delivers cleaner and quieter power making it more efficient, extending the range drastically
@jimji2774Ай бұрын
@euc_bbq Good to know thanks.

I have 3000 miles on my ultra bee and I absolutely love it
@Tumid1Ай бұрын
These results confirm what I've seen before. To go 35 miles @ 15Kw requires 5.5Kwh. I saw this when a stock motored Ultra Bee with a 5.5 Kwh battery racing an enduro had very little left at the finish of 35 mi.. I hope Dust is planning on such a battery because their idea of 3.5 Kwh will not make the bike desirable to the segment of potential buyers who like myself want to ride 35 miles with guys on 300's.
@Tazdeviloo7Ай бұрын
eWatt and soon Chi make 6.5kWh batteries for the Ultra Bee
@stupidmotoАй бұрын
The new KTM Freeride is 5.5Kwh at about 15Kw, so that seems like it would be the sweet spot for a lot of people. Heck my 450 with a 1.6 gallon tank only gets 30 miles before the low fuel light comes on.

Why don’t you have a better battery for the modded ultra yet!?
@ElectricCycleRiderАй бұрын
For sure! We ran the big battery in our Ultra for most of last year! The bike was rebuilt for some races we wanted to do and we needed multiple batteries to make it happen. Here's that video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lWWooXeci5ZlnZI To be honest, we like the balance of the bike way more with the stock battery and now that we have multiple stock batteries, we can successfully race the bike and get much more range than 1 big battery.
@cloudkmr777Ай бұрын
@@ElectricCycleRider Gotcha, that makes sense, it would still be interesting to see if the range is much better despite the extra weight. I hear you on balance though, I have a big EBMX battery in my light bee, wild how much different it makes the bike feel. But it also increased my range pretty significantly. Thanks for the reply. Come ride western WA sometime!

Nice video. Dust looks beautiful. "The Dust Moto Model_1 is gearing up for its primary launch in the U.S. While we're working hard to make it available worldwide, the earliest we anticipate international shipping is 2026. After the U.S. launch, our next target markets are the EU/UK and AUS/NZ. If you're in the U.S., you might want to check out our First100 Crowdfund Campaign to be among the first to own one!" By the time Dust starts selling a motorcycle, it will have long been defeated by Chinese competition.🙂
