Very lucky we’ve had the rain and feeding the heck out of them. As dad doesn’t want them to drop. Once they drop this time of year you can’t come back up it’s just holding till the end of the season. But very full and happy cows. Grass is lush give us 10 days of sunny windy weather we will be dry as. But till then milk on ladies.

What caused the injuries to the limping cows? Will they recover? If not ... when will they leave the farm?

Hey mate. The two in the paddocks injuries were one was an unknown but possible an injury from cows fighting. The other has gone down hill since calving but has always had hips issues just not helped. For other ones atm they were from running from being spooked and stones in the mud that’s on the race. We keep a close eye on them and treat them with antibiotics and anti inflammatory if it gets worse. So the two in the lame paddock. The one with hip issues is going this month once our butcher gets back from his holiday. She will become mince and sausages. The other will go later on as her injury isn’t causing her too much stress yet. Once it does then we will look at getting her also made into mince and sausages.

Hello Carl mate , Well like , I said before don’t like snow or ice . The weather changed we got 12 inches and getting another 3 to 5 more inches coming again . We was in orange for caution driving but now in red for emergencies only be on roads. Now we’re back to driving again roads our slick . Had some farmers to help clean the snow off the drive way . Have not seen you for away took a break that is okay you need it. You still got two cows limping ? What will happen to them Carl? The cows our ready to be milk and the flys our making them agitated and jumpy . Wow that cow didn’t want you to put the milker on her. Carl , made have to build another feeder silo so you can have extra feed and not run out. What ever scared the cows sure made a mess in parlor

Hey Rosemary mate. Haha yep damn cows can be hard to cup when there spooked. Yea only run out of meal unfortunately due to amount of time between loads. The two cows that are limping will be culled off for meat. The older one first then the younger one. Thanks mate. Wow you get a lot of snow. 12 inches bugger that. A thick frost is bad enough on the roads. Goodluck mate hopefully you get through this cold time of year without any mishaps. Sorry for the late reply mate. I’m terrible at replying to long comments.
