Baptism of fire and now your out into the other side and things will be much easier . The boat has had a good shake down sail, and you guys have broken all you can on the cat. The rest of the stuff is good….🙏🏼

Exactly! She’s shows us where it hurts and now we just have to get on with fixing her up…again 😂 still, she’s a tough old girl and we don’t mind given she is the hardest working member of the crew

Hey! Cool to connect here too. Thanks, we are pretty blown away by it to be honest and hopefully everyone has a great night at the awards next week. So cool to have a space where sailors and creators can be recognised and so many talented people out there.

We are looking to upgrade to wire but have had pretty good success on our fishing so far but this week was a bit unlucky. Hopefully the wire will help tho

It’s been really clear a lot of the time. In some places we go, we can’t even tell there is water so it feels like we are flying above the ground

Unfortunately not. Getting any parts to this part of the world is incredibly difficult so we are still running our make shift repair. Testimony to the improvised fix tho. 😊

I mean there’s a phase relating to polishing a 💩 I think applies 😂 yeah, with us, you are totally right. You get what you see. Mainly because we want to share an honest insight into our adventure (highs and lows) and there really is no need to exaggerate that. Plus, we can’t act for toffee. 😂

into Deep Sea Fishing and good practice went fishing is to change the terminal tackle on your rigs as hopefully it is twice the weight strength of the line it attached to. normally it is 120 lb test or larger depending on the size of one lure. when fishing with a Rod and Reel one uses a Snap swivel so you can change the lure after each catch. when one is food fishing every fish is several meals one desires to keep. in not called catching so some loss happen.
@RedSeas
@RedSeas 5 ай бұрын
Yeah, we only ever trawl fish for food using our little hand reels but so far its worked out pretty well for us. That said, we have had to say goodbye to the odd squishy squid when the line breaks. Now we have upgraded the leader to metal, we hope to see far fewer losses and a few more dinners. 😊

Love the channel, but your boat needs some tlc! Clean the rust and the green sugar scoops
@RedSeas
@RedSeas 11 ай бұрын
😂 think that’s the motto for our channel. Indi is our rescue cat and we are always working to bring her back to her former glory. The green scoop is all cleaned up now but it’s been a mission after the crossing as those scoops were pretty much under the waves for a month.

That looked like an amazing passage and that Wahoo is probably one of my favourite as well. I don't know if you have done already but I'd recommend a steel leader on the lures, fish won't be able to chop through that.
@RedSeas
@RedSeas 11 ай бұрын
Funny you mention that. We are searching for steel leaders right now. Tricky getting them out to french Polynesia but hoping to find a local source at a sensible price

@@RedSeas You should probably be able to find something in Tonga or Fiji or make them yourself if you can resource some thin steel wire and crimpers+tool. Or let Brioni just be creative, she's good at that.

in regards to the slow tv, maybe if it was time lapsed or something, otherwise I find it a bit boring and better for sleeping or screensaver as opposed to entertainment, but that is just my unasked for opinion. I detect scuba diving and snorkeling in the next episodes as the Tuamotu islands are renown for it.
@RedSeas
@RedSeas 11 ай бұрын
Yeah, plenty of underwater and over water fun to come. The slow tv was more of a bonus video to stick on in the background while you work or drift off. For all the excitement of our usual Sunday episodes, we figured it would be nice to show you some of the better sailing too.
