Hey, I was in that! I even vaguely remember the shark-suit football stuff!

Man, video game coverage used to be so much fun. Glad MinnMax brought us along for all of this reminiscing.

I love this! Amazing work putting it together Charles. My favorite part was seeing Lisa sort the fan art and recognizing some pieces from the magazine.

Someone coming along and completing his decades-old unfinished work is the most 'Dan Ryckert luck' thing ever.

I was less than 5 years old. Damn. That was such a cool snapshot of time.

12:40 Charles' question about energy levels is such a good one. I think it really is just a reflection of an era where people had longer attention spans and we weren't always needing to be ON all the time. Look at other interviews or documentaries from this era and there will be similar vibes. Now adays anyone can be seen on a screen if they want to, but it is likely in a 15 second tiktok where you have to be as loud and attention grabby as possible.

This is fantastic. It’s especially cool seeing figures that are still in the public eye before they truly blew up. I’m specifically referring to left shark at 2:36. Just crazy that left shark was at Game Informer before being thrust in the spotlight during Katy Perry’s halftime show in 2015.

I bet they never stopped getting dragonball fan art until the day they shut down

Who's to say it ever stopped? It wouldn't surprise me if there's a mail slot stuffed to bursting, somewhere in Minnesota right now. Over 9000 submissions, some might estimate.

Literally everyone said Psycho Mantis? Was that a bit?

Nope. At least not from me. I wasn’t really paying attention when others had their interviews.
